I've had a lovely day out with my sister, ended up going to get a baby monitor as we need one for when we are downstairs and A is in bed as we can;t hear a thing!

Tried A with another bottle of ready to use aptamil today and he had it no problem so going to get my mum over on saturday night to give him his first night feed so i can get a longer sleep!

i think we should all migrate to taras then ...

all squeaky clean but bit hot so gonna wait til i cool down to do my hair ... why does it seem longer to sort myself out now?? dont remember getting ready for work taking this long x

Thanks for that, I think thats part of my problem I seem to think I should be like superwoman and be able to do everything, when in fact I am still healing I had a pretty nasty tear and lost 800ml blood so am anemic as well and therefore very tired (I should really do a birth story)

I think I have decided to go with formula feeding and I have felt better today, I havent cried today (so far lol) so I think that was really playing on my mind,

The MW came to see me today and I said I was concerned about how much Elliot was eating cos in hosp he was having 60mls but the last feed he only took 30mls, and she suggested moving onto teat number 2's as she thinks the 1's might be making the milk come too slow and he is tiring himself out getting the milk out and falling asleep, does that seem possible, she did say they use 2's in the hosp so he is probably used to that.

If you guys make a bottle up say 4oz and baby only has 1oz what do you do with the other 3? do you just chuck it?

Also for those who boil kettle and fill bottles up then add formula as baby wants it how long do you keep those bottles with water in on the bench?

kindof.. Glad you are happy with your decision.. and yes you chuck whatever is left at the end of a feed.. try making up 2oz bottles. I just used to use a big jug make up several bottles and store them in the fridge until needed.. you can keep them 24 hours in the fridge.

24 hours I keep the bottles of boiled water on the sideboard.

Move him to stage 2 teats, stage 1 are rubbish, far too slow.

make up 2oz bottles, when he finishes it, 3oz etc.

KOAG - pleased you feel happier today.

I would throw the left over milk out. I know it's waste, but the milk isn't sterile after it's been used. Bacteria can grow quickly in milk and you don't want to give him a bad tummy.

I might make up 3oz bottles cos sometimes he drinks that much and Id hate to make a 2 oz bottle for him to need more
