Kindof, I think it's all probably been said already! But my story is that I struggled with BF when Andrew was on the unit, desperate to get feeding established so that I could bring him home. It took my mother to knock some sense into me, she said that it didn't matter how baby got his food so long as he did, there was no point letting pride get in the way. We switched to feeding EBM by bottle (he was receiving tube top-ups) and he was discharged just days later as a successful bottle-feeder. I've been feeding him EBM ever since as we never did get BF established.
Only problem with cold milk (so I was told) is that the baby uses up precious energy and calories heating it up in his belly. Andrew gets warm milk at home and room-temp milk when we're out, but never milk straight from the fridge.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Thanks again guys for your advice, I just had another little cry on the phone to my mam lol
He just woke up and I fed him some formula but he only drank 1 oz and is now flat out again, which means he is probably going to wake up starving in the middle of the night, cos he has been asleep for ages so thought when he woke he would want a massive feed.
Am I right to feed him when he wakes and not wake him for a feed? No-one really told us what we should be doing. I just thought it would be better feeding him when he asks for it.
ETA we are going to try the putting the boiling water in the bottles and keeping them on the bench and adding formula to the bottle when he needs it. Cos sometimes I think milk from fridge does appear to be really cold for himDebt £30,823.48/£44,856.56 ~ 06/02/21 - 31.28% Paid OffMortgage (01/04/09 - 01/07/39)

We were told to wake Andrew every 4 hours for feeds - that lasted all of one day of being at homeWe then opted simply to feed him on demand, and it turns out his cycle by then was about 4.5 hourly.
