Aw kindof- the blues suck! We all go through them to a certain extent, so don't worry (like I did) that I was the only one to feel this useless, that I wasn't coping etc etc. Now I look back rationally and don't think anyone can say they are 100% in the early months :D

Cry if you feel like it, it relieves tension! I remember blubbing into a lasagna just after DD was born (now I think why the f*** was I making lasagna!Def won't be doing that this time round!!!)

Not sure how you feel about homeopathy but I found 'Pulsatilla' brilliant for banishing the baby blues. Google it if you fancy giving it a go, it really helped me. I also found rescue remedy brilliant for when things started to feel like they were getting too much, helped to calm me down.

As for your breastfeeding issues, personally if you were having latching trouble and feeling a bit disconnected because of being separated in the beginning, consider going to bed with Elliot for a day or two. No visitors, don't bother getting dressed, just sleep when he sleeps, try and feed when he needs it (and it's the worse advice ever because it is so hard to do, but try to relax as much as poss) get as much skin to skin as poss. Just because you missed it first off, doesn't mean you can't do it now, even when bottle feeding try and touch as much skin to his as you can. I know people always mention how important it is at birth, but it continues to be important and has shown significant benefits.

Also not sure whether this is the wrong advice (someone who knows a bit better than me can advise) but what about nipple shields? Just somebody who had similar problems was telling me how they feel more similar to a bottle so helped to wean their baby on to the breast and off of the bottle iyswim. Though I know most people are very wary of them as they can build a dependance on them iyswim. *ETA* general consensus is that they aren't a great idea, so ignore this. I would strongly suggest speaking to the people in Krystals sig though, like she say's just to talk it out with someone rather than to offer advice, as you're prob sick to death of all the conflicting advice!!

Ultimately if BF really doesn't work out, the milk he has had so far from you will carry on doing him the world of good for months after you stop feeding him, so recognise your achievement. Make your decision based on you and Elliot no-one else chick!

Lastly go get OH and tell him to give you a huge hug from all the ladies on here, as I know everyone has been thinking of you!

(((Hugs))) Kindof, DD can't latch Poppie on and is using ex.milk in bottles, it happens but no-ones fault. You will feel better but it's so soon after having Elliot I bet you're overwhelmed, it does get more settled. XXXXXXXXX

    Bump the stroller question please?

Aww KOAG, have a (((Hug))) from me hun... I'm sorry you're feeling so rotten :( we've all been there...

I can't help you with the formula questions... Although I don't think there's anything wrong with giving babies cold milk, my sister always fed my neice cold milk... She said it saved her having to find somewhere to warm a feed if she was out...

Have you given the number in my sig a call? The ladies on the end of the phone are very skilled in counselling as well as breastfeeding supporting... :)
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Kindof, just wanted to say that there is always hope. Many babies need time to learn to latch on - Toby was 8.5 weeks before he latched on, but has been directly breastfed ever since. If you don't want to continue expressing/breastfeeding, that is fine, but if you do, there is lots of help and support out there. There are things you can do to try and get him to the breast.

My friend gives the milk at room temp to her baby. She said she makes all the days bottles and just leaves them on the side and uses when needed. Isn't that a bit dodgy? lol. Her kid hasn't been ill though and it's her 4th so i guess the rules are just overly strict to allow for goons.

this is how ive always done it :) i think they only need to go in the fridge if there premixed, unless u meant they were premixed??? i leave the bottles on the side with water in but add formula when its bottle time.

PiPi, :rotfl: The Pop http://www.silvercross.co.uk/our-range/pushchairs-strollers/pop/ebony/ is £50 cheaper than the Baby Jogger. http://www.bambinodirect.co.uk/details2.asp/ProductID/2574/sid//baby-jogger-city-micro-single.html once you include the raincover.

Yeah she makes the bottle properly, powder and everything, and has them on the kitchen side all day lol. I'd do it your way though. Or if it was gonna be used soonish i'd make it fully and fridge it, then microwave it but you're not even meant to do that are you?! Hot spots and all that. I've done it though, just needs to stand for a min and shake properly.
