Just today... I don't think dairy is a good idea the day after a vomiting episode... She eats it any other day... I have the wildlife choobs in the freezer that I put in her lunchbox... She's just really hassling me about being starving all day... <rolleyes>

How old was DS when you got him out of nappies? My friends son will be 8 this year with no sign that he's anywhere near ready...

PP, I think around 7-9m they sometimes have a dip in bf... I know Aimee did and I worried she wasn't having enough... If you're offering it to her then you're doing your bit... If she was hungry, she'd have it :)
Forgot to answer this - Alice had a phase around 8 1/2 months where she dramatically cut her feeding time for about a week and then it went back up (although I don't think quite to the previous level).

    Hi Everyone

Looking for some advice on potty training. My son is 2years and 4 months, he will use the potty if its in the room with him, but doesnt tell me if he needs to go Does this just come with time?

He is running about in the buff bottom half unsure how to proceed to the toilet stage, should i wait till he tells me he needs to go more regular? I have took this week off but unsure about leaving the house as we had 3 accidents at the playgroup this morning.

    Thanks in advance

I would try getting him to use the toilet, and letting him see you using the toilet to help him make the connection that you pee/poo in there. Don't get in the habit of asking him, thats training yoruself not toilet training him.

He is still young though, you may have to give up for now and try again in a few weeks. It's not a failure if that happens, plenty of kids are not toilet trained till closer to 3 years.
SS, there's plenty enough to feel guilty about... Don't ple other stuff on top!

Tia, have you tried brandy? Not to help the man-flu... Just to get you drunk like...

Nice to see you Feelie :)

I'm a mean Mummy because I won't let Aimee have yoghurt...

Agrees, SS, there is plenty to feel guilty for so don't worry! Molly will let you know when she is wanting teh rice cakes!

I don't drink Krystal, can I not just have a big bar of chocolate?

Meh... I've used semi skimmed on Caitlyn's breakfast since I started giving her breakfast... I don't think 10ml of half fat milk is going to affect her diet much...

Whoops - I went off to look for my file and didn't realise you'd already answered my question before I asked it. I've found a lot of the WHO information contradicts itself. I think this is partly because advice has changed over the years and partly because a lot of what is said is actually based on what they think people will actually do and varies for different parts of the world (so for example they advise cow's milk from nine months in the CAR because otherwise people are likely to water down the formula and it is better to have unwatered down formula for nine months and then switch than to have watered down formula for twelve months). Also a lot of it is guess work and keeps changing as they do new research.

Thats why I don't like seeing it spouted as if it is a golden rule. It's the world health organisation, so what is best for a child in a certain area is not what is best for a child somewhere else. Much of it is to prevent death from conditions in third world countries, which doesn't apply here. It's too generalised, like saying that tap water is just as good as bottled water. Here it is, but in some countries is contains bacteria that will cause illness.

Actually I just don't like people who have a 'what I do is correct and what you do is wrong' attitude.

6-8months (including the 8th month as the next is 9-11months) well mashed foods.

But the one I saw was different, will try to find it.

Anyway, Amber was nicking my dinner off my plate at 6months!
Thanks for that. Interestingly, within the text it says, "By 8 months most infants can also eat finger foods." so I guess that shows that they're very approximate with all these things anyway. (Except for the silly UK people who advise that you must not wean earlier or later than six months.)

    !!!!!!.

OH just called Iberia to ask what sort of infant allowance we can bring on the plane, and their response was "what baby?" The agent didn't bother putting her on our booking!

She is now booked on the flight with us and (if anyone's travelling in future) Iberia give a full 23kg baggage allowance for infants under two years, although there's no hand baggage allowance since they don't get a seat to stuff their bags under.
