Some folk rest and take it easy when ill, not me. Why am I on a cleaning frenzy?

    I've so far

Cleaned bathroom - twice because Christopher 'helped' by stealing the big bottle of cheap'n'nasty washing up liquid and washed the bath mat on the floor, and in the bath, and the loo etc
    Hoovered downstairs properly
Cleaned the dog cage and his bowls (nasty job but if these people take him tonight it needs done)
Cleaned the kitchen and done last nights dishes (I fell asleep on the couch for most of the night, shivering then throwing off blankets, stripping off, shivering again etc)
Cleaned up Christophers cut up paper mess
Fed and watered Christopher and Amber a few times
    Put a washing on

My head is proper banging (and I dropped the lemsips for co-codomol and galasud but still feel like crap). But you know what? I feel crap sitting down and feel crap tidying up so may as well tidy up.

Oh and Amber has discovered how to jump in the walker/jumper thing, she thinks it is very big fun :D

Next, Hoover stairs, clean glass doors, remove junk from tables, dust living room, empty TD etc...

How strange - did she give any reasoning? I don't really know what people do but surely most seven and a half month olds aren't just on purees? And it seems a bit late to be talking to you about weaning now - I just counted the months on my fingers three times to make sure I'd got it right the first time.

Molly's exactly the same age as Natalie's DD and she mostly eats mush, although she also likes cucumber and green pepper and has been given oven chips and steak to chew when she's been given it.

she commented something about what you give them should be digestable and mush is all they can digest right now, she kept asking what i feed her, i didnt mention letting her munch through an oven chip and a pizza crust when where having them :p

We do the same and don't feel bad about it at all. She does mostly eat mush/mush with small lumps, but she doesn't enjoy bigger foods as much and still has two meals a day and boob wherever she needs it. We'll introduce the extra feed after the holiday.

BTW, WHO recommend only mush till 9months, I know because I love to throw it at the 'OMG you will kill your child by weaning a singly hour before they are 6months old and also we do BLW which is the proper way because a book told us!' brigade.

I should add, that I have no problems with waiting to wean, weaning early, feeding mush, feeding finger foods, BLW, or whatever, my point being that I hate hypocrites who spout stuff as gospel when it is in fact just guidelines.

And also I'm ill with man-flu so can rant and rave as much as I want cos I have a fever, so nah!

Can you reference that? It is an interesting point. I thought WHO said that "Infants can eat pureed, mashed and semi-solid foods beginning at six months." and "By eight months most infants can also eat “finger foods”"

just nipped on and seen the weaning conversation, i have been speaking to a speach therapist today and she was talking to about weaning and that if you baby is not eating lumps/finger food by 9 months then it can actually slow down their speaking! he also said that most of the kids she visited stayed in spotless clean homes and as their mums didnt want a mess they kept the babies on much and couldnt understand why baby wouldnt talk or move on to finger foods, most of the children she was talking about were aged 2!!!!

Next sale tip - If there is something you really like that is online now, order it a day or 2 before the sale starts and if it is going to be included in the sale you end up paying sale price even though you ordered it at full price

Hi Feelie, did you see Weezl was asking you a question earlier?

I'm not sure whether to feel guilty now for giving Molly mostly mush. She seems to babble fine and has noises that mean specific things though, so her communication is ok clearly but no proper words except mama and that's all I need her to say. Ever.

I'm looking for the post I made 'elsewhere' but it has been removed. And I can't find it on the WHO site. It was in a box diagram on the site and basically said that 0-6months, breast milk. 6-9months finely mashed or pureed foods etc (or thereabouts).

I only quoted it because it illustrated that a lot of information is conflicting and should be taken with a pinch of salt.
