I saw a little gadget that's a breathing monitor that you clip to the waistband of nappy, and it monitors the rise and fall of the tummy/chest. if there's no movement for 15 secs it gives a little vibrate to gently rouse the child, then another at 5 more seconds, and then alerts you. Would it help to give a linkie?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO KAI & SETH xx

Off on a flexi day today, Daniel has gone to Grandmas as normal so the house is eerily quiet. Might see if I can get a nap later on?

Hugs to those that want/need them xx

Sugar, loads of times I've looked at Caitlyn and not been able to see her breathing, I find rubbing the palm of her hand makes her curl up her fingers and that reasures me... I think when they're deeply asleep they must breath shallower...

Thanks lovelies - I think Krystal being the voice of reason is enough Weezl :)

Happy Birthday Kai and Seth! xxxxxxxxxx

SM - the day will be over before you know it and you'll be back home again :)

Sugar - what a fright! I think these babies like scaring us like that! If Caitlyn looks fairly still I squeeze her foot gently or stroke her palm like Krystal said :)

Elliot! You come out here right this minute! Well.......maybe in a few hours - but SOON!!

Have a good day all :)

I've been called many things before...

    ;)

Incidentally, I also lie in the dark trying to hear her breathe... Get really worried... Contemplate putting the light on... She snorts and shuffles and carries on sleeping...

I still check Aimee's breathing when I go to bed too...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Meant to say earlier - we have the TT breathing monitor (along with a video one -paranoid? Me? lol) and have had no problems with it, no false alarms or anything. Don't know if thats the sort you're looking for Tara?

Big scare last night. Molly flat out refused to go to sleep and eventually passed out exhausted. I woke up around 3am, turned to look at her and she didn't seem to be breathing. So I put my hand on her chest and it wasn't moving - I shook her and she moved her fingers and then started visibly breathing again, but I don't know if it was just very shallow breathing because she was so deeply asleep or if we averted disaster or what. But I haven't been to sleep since.

Related to both quotes, we have the TT monitor and its gone off twice. Both in the same night when K wasn't feeling 100%.
Both times it went off, I jumped up, put my hand on his chest and gave him a gentle shake and K took a large breath in.
It woke OH too and I just said to him that I thought K had shuffled off the mat or he'd freak out something terrible.
It was awful and I never sleep for about a week after.
I would never ever not have the monitor with him and any future babies. I also have my eye on the clip on one

Good luck today SM, 6 hrs will fly in!!

Happy Birthday to Seth and Kai!

SS - Molly must have given you a fright! Babies breathing is funny isn't it? Sometimes their chests are rising and falling so dramatically that it doesn't look normal and then the opposite happens too and they don't look like they are breathing at all. I just put a finger under Holly's nose to feel her breath and tickle it if I can't feel anything, until she reacts! Will you be able to catch up on some sleep today? Maybe Molly was punishing you for getting a longer sleep at the weekend!

Welcome to Chaz and Twinkle (??) from yesterday (hoping I have the names correct!)
