Some new mum woes here :D

Last night was a sleepless night to :(

BF was hurting so much i was crying everytime she sucked. And she was on there for about 9 hours (ish), i had an hour sleep in between.
She was mainly suckling for comfort, so at 4am i gave her a dummy. I wasn't going to, but it worked and she slept for 2 hours and woke at 6 and then 7 for another feed.
Was i ok to do that? :o

And also she hasn't pooped since like 8pm. Is that Normal? :(

Right now she's sleeping in this lay down baby chair thing, its quite small so i think she likes the compactness :)

I have to sort through all her newborn clothes (that i wahsed and folded all ready for her..)
Most of them only go upto 10lbs, which she'll be hitting soon!
I found the first few nights were all pretty sleepless :o it does get better honest :)

If she still fed fine after a dummy then it's fine, 'they' are divided as to weather nipple confusion even exists ;)
pooping can be very random with BF babies, as long as she's weeing often then you know she's not dehydrated and therefore ok
    You're doing great! :D

Its mass confusion in our house. I'm always getting letters from schools/Dr's to Mrs M(J&L's name). It winds me up, i've never been Mrs M and never will be. I always make a point of letting OH see them and tell him if he gets his finger out and sets a date I won't have this problem. :rotfl:
So our post is a combination of Miss P, Mrs M & Mrs C.

And registering the birth. My nan is called Doris but always known as Dot. She sent Grandad to register the birth of their 2nd daughter who was to be called Doris, named after her mum.
Grandad went and said the baby was to be called Dot. The registrar asked is that short for Dorothy, he said 'oh yes, I think so!'. They'd only been married about 10 years, and he didn't know her name. :rotfl:

Henry still has about 7oz cows milk in the morning and same before he goes to bed and he's 28months if thats any help... must admit I was wondering whether I should change him from a bottle but he wont drink it out ot his 'juice' beaker????
Maz, when we tackled it we got completely new different cups for bed time. Chris has always had TT cups so I got him avent magic sportster cups
he was fine the first night but protested a little the 2nd night but we just told him that was what big boys had milk in and he could drink it from that or go without and he didn't question ever after about the 5th night.

Morning one he wasn't too bothered about but will only drink it cold with a drop of choccy crusha in :p

    Thanks everyone :)

I feel much better now :D

BF support just called to ask if i want a visit, so they are coming soon. Must go wake OH. I tried waking him earlier, but apparently hitting him whilst whispering his name doesn't work :p

IL's gave us £100 to spend on her, so i think a shopping trip is a must :D
Plus i want some new shoes... but shhh :p

oh EA until you see the BF person not sure if you know this but don't be afraid of taking her off the boob and trying to reposition her when it hurts.
just slide your lil figer in the corner of her mouth to break the seal - if you don't she'll take your boob with her  :rotfl:

    off now

Tara, I hope to come back to some good Poppie related news, Poppie are you listening? ;) x

Thats what HV was on about. She said V will associate her sippy cup with drinks so when you put milk in one she isn't happy.

She said to try this type of teat
    http://www.tommeetippee.co.uk/product/explora_weaning_bottle/
As its not as easy as a sippy cup, they have to still sort of do the bottle drinking action, but its not a bottle, iykwim!

(As Sami said - right again Sami!:D)

But then, i'm not sure if its that she doesn't like the milk in the sippy cup, or she doesn't like the milk cold. *confused smiley*
