It's lovely to see you Weezl! XXXXXXX

EA, I held Maddy in bed for months, I have one very content baby who normally sleeps 13hrs no problem. She was quite happy to cuddle in a go off and went without night feeds from about 6wks. X

Morning all... Apologies for the absence, everything's fine, just haven't felt like posting *shrug*

Saw Rhod Gilbert live on Tuesday night (awesome, really hoping he comes back next year, think he's in Warrington tonight :D) and Rhys stayed over at Grandma and Grandad's for the first time. Apparently he was an angel and went to sleep fine and slept through until Mum woke him up at 9.30am cos she was going out for lunch and wanted to have time to give him breakfast and play for a while before she brought him home!

We've had lots of clingyness from Rhys this last week - he's not fussed who's with him, as long as someone is, and they have to be right there playing with him, or preferably holding his hand while he just stands in the middle of the room looking impressed with himself or holding both hands and walking round the room - up to 64 steps without stopping the other night :D He finally sat for quite a while last night playing with his cups with Daddy with me sat behind him to catch him when he wobbled. Typical he did it last night because we've got the physio coming round in an hour so bound not to get a repeat performance for her

Encountered a jumped up doctors receptionist on Wednesday too. I'd asked for a repeat prescription of Domperidone on Fri 26th Feb and it hadn't turned up so I finally got round to phoning (my docs have very limited times when you can phone and only one phone line so you almost always get the engaged tone for the first five attempts at phoning!). Turns out because I'd naively been chatting to the receptionist and told her what I was taking it for (ie not it's intended use) she put a block on me getting it, and wrote down that it was to be discussed with a particular doctor... who doesn't work there any more! He now works at their parent practice so got an appointment with him and he was very negative, told me it was "about time I stopped BFing anyway" and that he'd only give me one more prescription which I should use to wean myself off it (over 10 days if I took it to it's max dose he prescribes) and then stop BFing if I'm reliant on it (don't know for sure I am but kinda don't want to find out!). I think I was too stunned to reply properly so I just walked out :( After the receptionist incident I was thinking about changing docs anyway so am going to order one of everything for Rhys today then get on with attempting to change docs from Monday... If the new doc doesn't want to prescribe it, I'll just buy it online (£3.25 for just over three days supply ) if I do need it.

Anyway, enough of my waffle.. must go wake Rhys :o

Hope everyone has a good day xx

Only if they are not married but we are so either of us can do it on our own.

Right I'm up and going to go get ready for sling meet today! But first I have a question about expressing - why won't my manual pump work?! It's definitely put together right but I just can't get anything to come out using it. I've done some manual expressing last night and this morning but only managed about 20ml each time. The pump is the Avent one.

I've just bought a manual pump, the Tommee Tippee one. The first two times I tried it, nothing came out. I had to do it by hand and then only got 1.5 oz. I tried again yesterday whilst C was at CMs and I managed to get 3.5oz altogether. Not loads I know, but I think we get our hopes up a bit at first by expecting to be able to express a 7oz bottle! I just kept swapping sides when one stopped coming out, then swapped again and it seemed to have 're-filled' a little. I think the amounts come with practice. I tried to express again last night and didn't get a drop, so I'm waiting till Caitlyn's gone and having a go then.

Tara I'd feed her as normal, if she's not in the mood for something she'll let you know but it's best (IMO) to carry on as normal if she is happy to, just make sure she has water/juice offered/available more than usual.

OMG elle! what a knobby knob head receptionist and doctor! What has it got to do with them anyway?! You had it prescribed by your GP who put it on repeat. no? I think I'll come up and give her a slap, she should keep her un-medically-qualified nose out of your business! I'm incensed!

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
SJ, i've got the Avent one and Tia and elle suggested taking the rubber petal bit off - it worked for me.

I find i have to lift my boob into it, so my nipple looks a bit higher than it should, and then when i pump it kinda drags it into the right position. Worked for me when i wasn't getting any. Just keep slightly changing the position your nipple enters the horn of the pump.
