That would be me feely, *beams with pride*

Have you thought about bunging Toby on your back now he's bigger?

Gisi, that looks like a babyhawk but with thinner straps, I'd be inclined to go for the babyhawk tbh as I finder thicker straps more comfortable but I wear her for bloody ages at a time! tis v pretty btw :-) And babyhawks are fab so if they're similar tis a good one :-)

I can do the Santa Toss! He loves it, and squeals when I do it. Great for cooking and vacuuming, having him on my back. Can I use the Joey for a hip carry? And I've never been able to figure out feeding in it, is that cos he is big, and I'm enormous?

I keep spotting Babyhawks, they are lovely.

Sling meets are brilliant, you can play with stuff, it's addictive and very bad for the bank balance! Anyway, ring slings, I have a maya wrap ring sling which are sposed to be very good, Pouchlings get great reports as well. Me and ring slings don't get on though, I have a stupid back so I never got the hang of one shoulder carries.

Sorry to come back with a question again. I don't often get a chance to read or post these days as Edward continues not to do so well.

We've been referred to a new paediatrician as none of the medications for reflux helped and he has started to vomit even more frequently and copiously than usual. The new theory is that he may be lactose intolerant so I've been asked to stop feeding him for a week and to give him a lacto-free prescription formula called neocate to see if this helps. I want to express for this week to keep my supply up, but as he is hard work, I'm wondering how to fit this in to the day.

How often, and how much in volume, will I need to express each day to maintain my supply over the course of a week, so that if he isn't lactose intolerant, I can go back to breast feeding him? I can freeze my milk this week, and supplement him for a while after we start again if necessary, if a diminished supply will increase again if he starts feeding again.

And, if he isn't breastfed for a week, how likely is he to lose his suck reflex (he's 5 and a half months now) or to refuse the breast for any other reason if we get the all clear, and what if anything can I do to prevent this?

All advice welcome, and apologies again for coming back with questions!

I love back carries, I use a wrap for them though as I find it about a million times easier! Alledgedly you can hip carry with a joey, so chuffing clue how though! Feeding, I manage it so you will as well, basically put him in as if you were poutting him in normally. Tie the knot the knot further down the straps and shuffle him down so he's lower down your body. Then shove boob in face. It's hard to explain, if I can I'll try to take a picture of me and Herself and bung it in thr sling meet group. Remind me if I don't :-)

What's all the fuss about with these mei tai's? They look fiddly to put on, although from the front (of pics i've seen) they do look nice.

I was kindly given a murron's pouch/freedom sling type from csh but i couldn't get on with it. I thought i might be the wrong size so i tried it on my taller but skinnier ex and it didn't work on him either, despite looking at many many video's and instructions.

So when the ex was here he told me there was a carrier in the cupboard of my house that he'd used for his kids and had brought it here for some reason. It's a Tomy freestyle i think.

Does anyone want the pouch sending on via fairymail btw?

nicki is he your first? piloric stinosis is a problem in first babies esp boys and makes babies very sick and cannot hold food down? it is very easily sorted with an operation. If not then my nephew was on this milk but took a reaction to something in it(saff flower oil) the milk smells and baby might have problems taking it( sister was told to add crusha milk shake lol!)
    hope things get better!

I have friends who are siblings, there are four of them and apparently it wasn't till the oldest moved out of home at 18 that she had a bath where either someone wasn't in it with her or she didn't have to share her bathwater. I'm not sure about teenage siblings bathing together, but it's very environmentally sound to share the water, it's not like most people are dirty enough to make their bathwater truly unreusable :rotfl:
I'm hoping it was just sharing water that happened when she was older! I personally thinkg sharing water once puberty starts is rank but I'm a germaphobe so could just be me :undecided
OH's family all shared water when I met him *shudder* I seriously don't understand why they still have a massive old immersion thing, get a flipping combi boiler and have hot water on tap! - goons! :p
