Anyhoo what I really came here to ask was, for those of you who are/did breast feed did you bother with specific vitamins to support you through out?

As long as you've got a fairly healthy diet you don't really need vits just like normally, but if you feel like a top up then afaik you odn't need anyhtin special :-)

Btw interesting fact your body will rob nutrients from you so that it keep your milk at optimum loveliness so even if you live on a diet of pot noodles your milk will be grand it's you that'll feel a bit dodgy! Well, until you're seriously malnourished but by then hopefully you'll have got sick of pot noodles and moved on to pasties or something *beams in a wholesome manner*

I only came on to post my sling based propaganda and I've got drawn in! How did that happen!

I have a confession to make :o My neighbour is anti-breastfeeding and was saying I was mad for breastfeeding blah blah blah. She asked how do I know my breasts are sterile, so I told her I had a special tank that I had to fill up with sterilising fluid and I had to lean over and dangle my boobs in the tank for a few minutes before a feed.

She then came back full of thunder because she'd told her Mam and her Mam laughed at her for believing me :o:rotfl:

Thank you, that has just made my day :T
Harley- I meant to ask, are you back at work part-time or are you doing KIT days? Only I noticed you said that going to feed Kezia at lunchtime meant you lost half an hours pay. My understanding of KIT days was that you got paid one day's wage regardless of whether you work 8 hours or 2 hours so it shouldn't make a difference. Apologies for being nebby but I didn't want you to miss out.
Hi GISI. You're right they are KIT days but unfortunately the idea of getting paid for a day and only working an hour is wishful thinking. I, and probably everybody, get 10 days per ML to keep in touch. They are paid at the hourly rate, even though I am salaried so it is pro rata for me. Think the confusion comes from the days. So even if you only work 1 hour on your first KIT day, you only have 9 KIT days left. It's not 10 x 40 hours. I was aiming to do 8.30 til 4. I was early, amazingly, and got in at 8.15. Left at 4.10 so am actually only 5 mins short of my plan. But tomorro I have to get to post office so I can't do that this time. Not sure what I missed delivery of yesterday, but my choices are Kezias Bl00dy expensive photographs or her cushion for the highchair. Either way I want them asap.
    How are things with you?

Fritha while you are here, what do you make of the SimplyMeiTai Deluxe?

And could I use a pouch sling with an 11kg baby if the limit is 10kg?

And they are still doing tests into it's anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties today :D See, i is dead clevor two :D

Ok, I'm with you Harley. My work pay mine at my standard daily rate regardless of how long the day worked is, so I had assumed that was the same for everyone! How's Kezia feeling now? Henry is exhausted as we have had Grandparents here all afternoon! He went straight to sleep when they left!

OMG, OMG, OMG, I am so excited as my in laws have offered to pay for our new kitchen!!! They also want us to get a new cooker which we weren't going to bother with! Who's have known that all I had to do to get financial help from the in-laws was carry their grandson for 42 weeks then spend 44 hours in labour! Still, new kitchen is much more child friendly so I can see why they are so keen for us to do it!

feely, have you thought about buying a sling from the USA off Etsy(.com)? They work out cheaper b/c of the dollar. There's loads of different sellers selling all sorts of style & fabrics - GISI and I actually own the same one and it only took about a week to get here.

if we're going to talk about slings, I want to know if there's a specific 'type' I should look for when thinking about summer. I know my fleece-lined one will be absolutely roasting come June!
