I have friends who are siblings, there are four of them and apparently it wasn't till the oldest moved out of home at 18 that she had a bath where either someone wasn't in it with her or she didn't have to share her bathwater. I'm not sure about teenage siblings bathing together, but it's very environmentally sound to share the water, it's not like most people are dirty enough to make their bathwater truly unreusable :rotfl:Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Please tell!
Well you did ask ;-) Anyway around your nipple you've got little bumpy bits, they're named after a bloke whose name I always forget. They leach an antibacterial fluid when the baby starts sucking, it effectively sterilises your nipple. The anti bacterialness of your milk means it can treat all kinds of stuff like eye problems and what have you. Technically you don't have to sterilise stuff that breastmilk goes in just scald it with boiling water (That's only technically, please don't actually take my word for it and miss out sterilising. Just to be on the safe side!). It also means it can be kept longer because bugs don't grow in it as easily.
I've attempted to keep that breif but I could talk for hours about how cool bm is(I don't get out much)

I never needed to express for DD apart from a couple of times when she was ill and I had to spoonfeed her!
I did however donate to a milk bank for a while and the info they gave me stated that when collecting milk, I should collect in one container for 24 hours and just keep adding to it. It never mentioned cooling it first or anything like that, just said add it to refrigerated container. Then after 24 hours start a new container (I'm sure this was just so it could be correctly dated on each bottle, so they could store appropriately) As others have said I have read it can be kept in fridge for 3 days.

I think when she is a teenager it's a bit !! I was thinking more around age 6 or 7 myself lol. I remember sharing a bath with my sister when I was about 12 and she was 6 or so.
Can't imagine a teenage boy and girl though? Bit weird, and I'm sure ahem, one can't control ones' penor when boobies are on the go, regardless who owns them.....
ho hum, my mind works wrongly.0 -
Fritha, His name is Montgomerey (sp?)
Harley, if you're hand expressing, you might find it easier to do it into something wider than a bottle, scald out a clean jug or bowl and express into that...
We also missed out bottles and went onto cups... Cup feeding takes longer, but most babies figure it out...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

BM can be kept at room temperature for 24 hours, in the fridge (at the back so it's proper cold and isn't exposed to changes in temp from opening and closing the door) for about 8 days and in the freezer for 3-6 months!
Wow, that is fab. Thanks Fritha, I will store away that information. And thanks for the rest, I think it is cool too. That is why i was so determined to work through all the problems and continue.ladybirdintheuk wrote: »Harley - if she wont take a bottle have you tried with a doidy cup or something? Izzy has her milk in a sippy cup now - we missed out bottles completely here, as she was stuborn.
Hi lady, She is only 5 months old and I think that is still a bit young. Though I did try her doidy cup last week as I was getting desperate to find some way of getting the formula into her but she just turned away and I was in danger of feeding the carpet, lol. I would have tried bypassing bottles myself if I could have stayed off work longer. As it is, it's only one day a week but obviously I need her to eat during that one day hence my daily efforts this week to try to get her to take a bottle. Wish she could understand that if she would just do it on a monday she wouldn't have to have any more for the rest of the week. Now it feels like a punishment.
Blimey, that was a bit of a frenzy.
I'll go and give her another cuddle now, she is awake again

harley when i went back to work after erin she did not feed for the whole day, she would take solids but refused a cup and bottle. it was a routine of me walking in the door and feeding her as i was bursting and she was starving! after a few weeks she started to take a bottle and it did settle down! What's for you won't go past you0

Now me and OH share the bath water (we've yet to physically have a bath together lol its to small I am too fat (or pregnant if you ask OH lol) )
