feely, have you thought about buying a sling from the USA off Etsy(.com)? They work out cheaper b/c of the dollar. There's loads of different sellers selling all sorts of style & fabrics - GISI and I actually own the same one and it only took about a week to get here.

if we're going to talk about slings, I want to know if there's a specific 'type' I should look for when thinking about summer. I know my fleece-lined one will be absolutely roasting come June!

Fritha while you are here, what do you make of the SimplyMeiTai Deluxe?

And could I use a pouch sling with an 11kg baby if the limit is 10kg?

mei tai: ooooooh so pretty! Custom carriers are generally brilliant as they get tailored to what you want/need :-)

Pouch: If it was a quick one off thing then it should be grand, prolly not massively comfortable but grand, otherwise I wouldn't because he'll just get bigger and it'll fit more and more badly. I assume the fabric is stretchy hence the weight limit which means it'd be uncomfortable and the fabric could get stretched by his weight and make it unsafe.
    Tubercles!

*whispers* well done on the 'some' sleep :D

Now you're just showing off ;-) No wonder I forgot that, what a ridiculous name, it sounds vaguely rude as well *runs away giggling*

Oh! Can I add to Frithas mad raving about Montgomery Nodes?

Fritha, I'm using a Joeysling at the moment, and just bought an secondhand SMT Deluxe and can't wait for it to arrive!

I've got a pouch already, wondered if it was okay for occasional use.

    GISI - what is yours?

Mei tais are good in summer as yoyu've got gaps at the side of a breeze to get through, I've got a joey and I absolutely love it :-)

Wraps are very good for summer you can get some lovely light ones, you would need to learn a tie that does involve too many layers, nicely cool but more of a learning curve involved :-)

Hooray for Joeys! You'll have to bring your smt to a sling meet for me to drool over sometime please :-) They look really comfy :-)

Hmm, it would depend how often and for how long, use your judgement really, keep a really close eye on it, check it really well for wear and tear et al and once he's dangling down by your knees it's prolly time to hang it up! Have you thought about flogging it and using th emoney to buy a bigger weight limit one?

Whoever it was who let me try the Joey in Warrington, I'll be forever in your debt! It is amazing and I love babywearing so much. I'm a complete convert!
