I paid an extra £700 in tax this year for having a staff mortgage !! In all fairness I saves slightly more than that this year because the rate is so low, but as soon as the rate goes up, I will be coming off it again as it isnt worth it !!The two best things I have done with my life

Anyways, you might of just wanted a £500 banger but maybe you had to have a snazzy car to promote how awesome your company is. You couldn't have someone turning up in a sooped up vauxhall nova when they are trying to sell you life saving medical equipment and what not. Could you? No you'd think they were skimping on their MRI equipment and would worry your patients would end up with rat tumours coming out their eyes.
Oh deary me, you're on top form tonight......

I neeeeeeeed to go car browsing/shopping.. I just can't build up the courage!
I'm still driving my first car and that purchase was a silly mistake - not the car itself, just signing the credit agreement (pre-MSE days, clearly!) and then faffing with a lower rate loan and getting myself out of a pickle
Am a bit scared to go trying to do a deal on another one... Feels like I should be more savvy now but I'm not brave enough
Might have to call my little sister to do it for me!

Yeah i know. But helmets are VAT free, so why not seats!
They are if you ask for one free when you go buy a new car! Isofix baby seat please Mr Ford man - certainly Miss Beenie, what colour would you like (anything but chavvy gold pleeeeease)!
Oh, forgot to mention, it may be cheaper paying for a new seat than the actual VAT on a new car itself, but hey-ho.....2010 - year of the troll

I think there are drug dealer parents at Keira's nursery now. They are both big and fat with day glo tans and chav lacoste clothes, neither of them work, covered in gold bling, and drive a sooped up big black 4x4 with tinted windows.
I think the woman looks mean. I try and avoid eye contact because she might headbutt me down the stairs.0 -

See this: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/calcs/cars.htm or changes here: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/cars/rule-changes.htm
The easiest option is to pick a cheaper car from the pool cars and let the employer pay you (the difference) from your allocation of vehicle "cost" and the cheaper model.
I've been using that 1st calculator. His work has no pool cars so we have to just pick carefully, the new BMW and Volvo have CO2 of 109 and 119 so keeps the cost right down and we can get the Volvo and all our fuel for 2k a year.Too many children, too little time!!!0 -

Not what I meant, but if it makes you feel better
Gosh Sami, that's a lot of WTC... We only get £20ish pw...:o
Beenie, the people that got rid of me when I was pregnant with Aimee were a family firm and the nepotism was hideous!
SS, Aimee had a similar style... I think I posted a pic to it a few days ago... (No earring though... As if I ever would!!!)
I meant to say earlier... One of the Mums at newborn group has started making bandana bibs... I gave her a popper setter that I had lying around and she made Caitlyn 3 bibs as a thank you... Super cute!!!
Also they have Chris down as in childcare but that it costs 0 I've told them 3 times he's not in any childcare but they always say it'll come off coz it's on 0 I give up!Krystaltips wrote: »You would think car seats would be 0%VAT seeing as they're the law?!0 -

We looked into this but he's had no car for years so insurance, mot, tax, upkeep, fuel and the cost of the actual car it just wasn't worth it. And as he goes for fuel we avoid using mine as much as possible. If we go for the 2k option we could never run a car for that and buy it. :cool:Too many children, too little time!!!0
