The only way my DD would ever nap was to bung her in the pram and wall round the block a million times til she went over.
I know it sounds silly to say and not what you want to hear but more daytime naps are probably going to lead to earlier to bed/easier to sleep.
Does she eat plenty? Is she too hungry to sleep?
I know that but am sure a better night sleep would also lead to better day sleeps and i can't seem to get her doing either. Pretty sure she's not hungry cos i feed her like every hour or 2 in the day. Plus i know the easiest way to get her to sleep (when it works) is by letting her suck, so sometimes when i'm trying to get her to sleep she's eating every half hour or so, or is on there for like an hour at a time. So she's definitely having all i've got!! I'm seriously getting to end of my tether with it.
Out for walks in pram does work after about an hour, but then only lasts while we're out walking, she wakes as soon as we get home. And as much as i like walking, 2 hours at any one time is about my limit so that only makes 1 hours nap. Plus if she falls asleep in the day it home, it's only on me and she then wakes if i put her down. Maximum i seem to get her to have that way is half an hour to an hour.
Its now a full time job getting her to sleep each day so i don't get to do the things i enjoy with her or that she enjoys. She hardly gets chance to play or do anything that would encourage her to learn. And i get nothing done in the house (or anywhere else for that matter!) Am lucky if i get to put a load of washing in these days.:j Very proud mummy to Evie Mae born 26/12/09 :jAims for 2010 - be a good mummy, lose (some) weight, clear (some) debts, be happy0 -
I love my Zia too. I hadn't noticed the handles being big, but i've got big man hands anyway.searching_me wrote: »question where do people buy there baby vests from? x
I've just bought a plain white sleeveless pack of 7 for £6, from Matalan. I'll report back when they've been worn & washed.
ETA: Matalan also seemed to have a lot of bigger girls clothes in, that Liv & me agreed on, which is very unusual!from reading the nhs info it seems likely that is where they caught it from, weather it's from the food or just general surfaces or another child we'll probably never know though. It did say adults are often immune hense adults being fine.
Both times mine have had it, i've felt sick with a ball in my tummy and the watery mouth feeling, but not actually been sick?!?
I was supposed to be going out with a RL friend tonight. She's just text me to say she's come home from work being sick.We visited her on Saturday.
We passed it to her last time too.
I hope her grandaughter doesn't get it too, she's only 6 weeks old, and we had a cuddle with her on Saturday.:beer:0 -
Sorry for rant. I just get so jealous when people say LO's are having a nap. Seriously can't remember last time Evie went 'down for a nap'. When she does these days its in her pram if i'm out with her, or in my arms at home, in which case i have to sit with her.:j Very proud mummy to Evie Mae born 26/12/09 :jAims for 2010 - be a good mummy, lose (some) weight, clear (some) debts, be happy0

Have you spoke to your HV? Is she generally healthy/happy putting on weight and stuff?
Feeding every 1-2 hrs sounds like a lot and very draining on you, (no pun intended!).
Agree with Glam, hand her over to IL's and bogger off0 -

Not seen HV for about 3 weeks since her last jabs and she was still ok then. Well, she still hated sleep in day but her nights were great.
She was 10lb8oz last time at 3 months exactly. 7lb 13oz when she was born. Putting weight on but not on the line 'they' would like!:j Very proud mummy to Evie Mae born 26/12/09 :jAims for 2010 - be a good mummy, lose (some) weight, clear (some) debts, be happy0 -

Not the same thing but K really didn't thrive from about 12/13wks he was a miserable wee thing. I seen the HV twice a week tho so even she noticed he wasn't himself. She kept an eye on him for a few weeks then it was decided between us to early wean at 17wks. He was instantly back to his cheery self and on 3 meals a day about 4 days later!
It is hard when everyone else seems to have it easy with the naps and other things and you're left thinking whats wrong with my baby! The most over used saying for babies is 'its just a phase', how does that help?! lol0 -

Maz, I was reading the Dr Ferber sleep book recently (don't agree with all of it) and it said that you should only try for a hour to get LO off to sleep then give up. If she's not sleepy she wont sleep so there is no point trying. Just try looking out for the signs like rubbing her eyes or yawning then try to get her to sleep. Although I can't talk I always feed Erin to sleep! If I want a nap I feed her lying down or I take the time to be on here. I put her in the sling to get jobs done or wait until OH is home to look after her while I do chores.Mum to DD born Oct 2009
