ooh.....
i bet you have to check...
-how long you were waiting in the shop before someone acknowledged you
-knowledge of destination
-uniforms and name badges, staff appearance
cooks have all the shops mystery shopped once every 3 months
dont book the holiday like some daft mystery shopper did in london!! (although sometimes you are told to do this)'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
Ooh SS, a holiday sounds a fab idea. I've been looking for flights to my mums but it seems so dear. Is it just me that thinks everything seems dearer when your on SMP? Or am I just tight :rotfl:Belly Monkey arrived 19.11.09 :j0

come on Elliot!!!!!
anyone know if you can work on a self employed basis while receiving SMP?
had a google but cant find much
Glam I couldn't work as SE childminder whilst getting Maternity allowance. With SMP your tax code is already being used by an employer so you will be charged emergency tax on any Mystery shopping earnings. You can however register as a low earning so you get exemption from NI on those earnings.
Not 100% sure as SMP is slightly different but I would say that if you work you would lose your SMP the same rules as MA
Take that back then : SMP and MA aren't treated the same according to Becles on thread link above:heart2: Charlie born Aug 2007 :heart2: Reece born May 2009

It went like this...
p for Peppa
e for effalump (bless him he confuses elephant and heffalump)
r for bunny rrrrwabbit
c for Cllllllllaire
y for yo-yo
p for Peppa
i for.....pause... i *moves swiftly on*

There was a change in maternity rights in October 2008 - ie after that thread was posted along with that info was quoted (but not linked ).
Glam, your best bet is phoning HMRC. You can find the phone number for your local office here0 -
