You're a tough one Scruffy
but hugs anyway.
Sami, me and OH went to Rome a few years ago but the only place we could afford near the centre didn't really have a comfy bed - just something to consider. Hope you are feeling better soon.

chopsticks wrote: »Kindof, I haven't read back so I'm not sure what your question was (sorry) but I saw that you were mentioning bedtime routines. We started one with Caitlin when she was three weeks old, and she goes to bed really well now.
Ours is very similar to the one SJ does with Alfie. When she was as young as Elliot, we used to do a bath at 6:30pm (usually about 6:40 by the time we'd undressed her and run the bath), then bring her downstairs for a feed, then put her in the moses basket swaddled. We just used to pick her up when she cried or needed a feed. We'd then take the moses basket upstairs with us when we went to bed.
When she was in her cot in her own room (at just under 7 weeks old - gosh that sounds so young now), we changed it slightly. We do everything as before but feed her upstairs in our bedroom, with just a dim light on before putting her in her cot. I then went upstairs to BF her if she needed it,
Now, she doesn't need feeding in the night and very rarely wakes in the night too (except for a couple of weeks ago when we had a run of interrupted nights!). Sometimes she is wide awake when we put her down in her cot, other times she is nearly asleep, but even when she's wide awake, she usually goes to sleep in a few minutes.
If we ever have baby number 2, we'll definitely do a bedtime routine from the same age, as it has worked so well for us.
Thanks for that, we kinda do something similar at the minute apart from the bath, he gets bathed during the day when he is awake as by night time he usually sleeps then wakes for feed then sleeps etc and I didnt think to wake him for bath.
He usually gets fed at like 6pm or something then gets swaddled and sleeps in his moses basket downstairs then he wakes at 9pm or 10pm for a feed, we feed him, swaddle him then take his moses basket upstairs, we then sometimes go to bed or sometimes not lol
Then on a good night lol he will wake at 12 or 1 for a feed then, about 3 or 4 (sometimes 6) then he wakes up again at 8 (depending on what time his last feed was)
So it looks like we need to introduce the waking him for a bath, when we put him in our bedroom we leave the lamp on though as when we go to bed OH likes to read a bit and we thought it was better that the light is on already so we dont wake him when we go to bed?
Thanks for your bedtime routine as well GISI and Aless and MDW
Hugs Scruffy

The getting up early part is the only bit i'm worried about
Rhys will be fine and work will be fine - and if it's not, I can work out in hours and minutes how much longer I have to work for the old boss
