And I was a bit late coming to the wedding list, but there was nothing on it under £45/50 or so  right up to items in the many hundreds... don't know how well-off his bride's family are but I begin to wonder!

I don't feel you should feel a pressure to give anything. If you did, it is no longer a gift but a wage.

If people genuinely value your presents rather than your presence at their wedding (not that I'm suggesting your cousin is like this Bruno:o:), but I have felt it as a wedding guest) then I personally think that is sad for them and rude of them.

Hello stranger BTW! How is little alien nephew? :)

  • Oh Sami - thanks for reminding me!

Has anybody seen any travel kettles for sale anywhere? I used to have one but got rid of it when I was clearing out ready for Benjamin to arrive *rolleyes*

Just thinking I will need one for Benjamins bottles whilst we are away.

Weezl - we put on our wedding invitations that we would rather have their presence than their presents :D
...but then we also asked for cash for our honeymoon which some people see as a big no-no too :o

hmmm, i hate people that have over-priced wedding lists! We had a huge mishmash on ours - from posh things at John Lewis to cheapie things from Argos! I mean, there was stuff on there for a tenner - even harder when half your contingent is buying in pitiful $2-for-£1 at the time ;). I think people should always have bargain end stuff on their list AS WELL AS the expensive, quality things. That way you're catering for people from all budgets.
top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

would like to win a holiday, please!!

I got our travel kettle from argos - £10  our proper kettle was only £5!! I couldn't find a travel one cheaper in the last minute time I had

I've been looking for one for the same reasons - Argos have one for £10, Sainsburys had a kenwood one instore for £11. I'm finding it annoying that I can by a proper kettle for less than a fiver.

    ETA: Sami - SNAP!

That is what I was worried about.

Maybe I can just buy a £5 kettle and stick it in the luggage...filled with socks or something

might as well, do you have any travel space bags? (like a vac bag but no vacuum required) they helped us get everything in our cases - just be careful because they make your bag heavier that you think

I am master packer extraodinaire!! I can make the smallest of suitcases overweight because I pack so efficiently

Hubby used to laugh and say there is no way I would fit it all in, now he asks if he should get the kitchen sink too :D

Although if I am taking a kettle I am taking some coffee and mugs too!

Should have gone self catering *rolleyes*

Thanks all, but I just bought some random thing, shrug. It's bonus month so it's lucky timing for him, for me to be profligate with my cash!

Lining up toddler bed purchase (the IKEA one has a lot of good reviews and is cheap, winners all round?), new stack of work clothes purchase, and working out holidays (B&B in Cornwall? 3 weeks in California? Who knows.).

I vote 3 weeks in California with an MFD in your suitcase to introduce Elijah to the sights of Sausilito ;)

Should I be a MFD to be grammatically correct?
