I'm majorly fed up now as I have suffered from SPD
I was just told yesterday that I have this. This is my first baby and I just thought it was normal to be in a lot of pain at this stage. Thankfully its really only happened in the last few weeks, my heart goes out to anyone who has been feeling like this the whole way through. I've had other (also really painful!) complications too, so although I'm only 37 weeks, I'm seeing the consultant on Thursday with a view to being induced as she thinks I've had enough at this stage! But, if anyone wants to send me those labour vibes, maybe with a bit of luck junior could arrive of his/her own free will instead !0 -

Actually there are studies that show the population balance sorts itself out after some discrepancy. For example in a war, many men are killed, as a result women have to do more demanding jobs, hence more sons are born.
Studies in rabbits suggest changes in the Ph of the womb may cause this, effecting which sperm make it to the egg.
So you could drink some vinegar?!

I purchased a couple of books on how to choose the sex of your baby from Amazon. Haven't used them but it is all to do with the timing of conception, always gives advice on diet, probably not exactly accurate but may give an helping hand if followed correctly!
PM me if you want more details.

Apparently the production of stress hormones in the male can determine which sex the baby is. The higher the levels of stress the higher the chance it will be male. So the best course of action is to have him relax as much as possible.
That probably means you will be doing the bbq and fetching him beer0 -
Hopefully I can join this club some time soon. What is SPD? It sounds nasty.0

Hi,
I read something that said 'male' sperm swim more quickly and are not as hardy as female sperm. Female sperm swim more slowly and are stronger than male sperm, Hence, to conceive a boy - time 'it' to a day before or the day of ovulation. to conceive a girl you need to do the deed 2 or 3 days before ovulation and then not again! I think that was right!!!:rotfl:0 -
We are trying it very loosely after reading up about it.
I would be happy with either, we have a boy already, my husband is more inclined towards a girl.
We aren't that great at following rules, so the guides on what to eat and all the ovulation tests bore me to tears, so we are just doing a rough guide of no trying after day ten after period starts.
I think after a few months of trying if nothing happens we will look at ovulation kits, my preference would be to just go for it at any time in the month, but I respect my husbands attempts for a girl.
My friends swear by ovulation kits for a girl.
As soon as you get the go ahead from the ovulation kit try for a baby that day and the odds are higher for a girl that way.0 -
