Well.... we were told various fool proof ways, mainly to conceive early in the month, upside down, eating bananas etc!!!
There are plenty of temperature based charts on the net that will plot which days are for boys which are for girls.
BUT.. we found out last week that our third son is on the way so guess mother nature wins after all!0 -

I have a boy already and would like a girl. If I don't have a girl it's not a problem, I'll still be over the moon, but would like to try.
I've heard lots of advice and tales but does anyone have any experiences with this?
Please dont ask for advice off my mum or dad, between them they had 7 boys  Whats the odds of thatI came into this world with nothing and I'm gonna leave with nothing.0 -
hechizero wrote:Apparently the production of stress hormones in the male can determine which sex the baby is. The higher the levels of stress the higher the chance it will be male. So the best course of action is to have him relax as much as possible.
That probably means you will be doing the bbq and fetching him beer
That makes sense to me. My husband is so laid back he's horizontal. I thought he was narcoleptic ... he can fall asleep anywhere. On my dad's shoulder when we were 'courting', in the GP's waiting room, at a funeral and many more.
We have three girls.
I also drank a lot of milkde do-do-do, de dar-dar-dar0 -
I'd love to join too please!
I'm only 7 weeks according to my calculations and this is our first, so very nervous (although delighted :T ) and desperately hoping it all goes alright. We're not telling anyone as yet, so struggling to keep it all to myself (failing in fact I guess by what I'm doing here!! - oops!)
Saw my GP last week, who to my amazement didn't do a test, was happy to take my word for it (ok, I've done two, but I would've trusted his a whole lot more!) Told me to ring up and make appointment with the midwife, which I duly did, or tried to. First one they could offer was beginning of Sept!!! Fortunately I think they could sense my fear and have now brought that forward to middle of August. Is that soon enough? I guess I'll be about 11 weeks.
Looking forward to hearing people's tips and bargains found. xx0 -

apparently this is a cost cutting measure, as the over the counter ones are so accurate these days anyway !
but it was nearly 8 weeks from seeing my GP to having my first scan and I was convinced the whole time that they were going to tell me that I had imagined it all and to go home and stop being silly......its funny what goes through your head!0 -

There hasn't be a girl born on myside of the family for the last 60+ yrs, I've 4 brothers and have two sons, my wife insists Ive got faulty DNA
its funny you should say that because, although not quite this extreme, there is a severe shortage of males in my family ! most of my cousins, on both parents sides, are female. I have 3 sisters but only 1 brother, and two of my sisters have 3 daughters each. But what baffles me is that in reality, this must actually be coincidence, as presumably the gender came from their husbands, not from my sisters? But its funny how many families you see which are so heavily tipped towards one gender !0 -

Okay. I'm in. I'm Gill. I'm around 10 weeks pregnant. Had given up on getting pregnant again and given most of my son's old clothes and toys away. Fell on that month.
I have saved money by buying a 99p pregnancy test. (Which was just as exciting to see as a dear one!)
I feel constantly tired, nauseous, sporadically weepy/grumpy. I've already gone up from a 36DD to a 38E and am in 2 sizes bigger jeans than I was 2 months ago. But I haven't put any weight on in about 3 weeks because the smell of food makes me want to vomit! LOL
Was worried about my asthma which has been very bad in pregnancy. On very good regime with medication and I feel great. So big thanks to my fantastic asthma doc!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
