Hi guys, we lost our net connection for a few days, due to the cat chewing through the wireless cable. Looks like I've got a bit of reading to catch up on.
Best get on with it!!0 -
Hi, I was in similar position as OP with a risk of 1:81 chance of Downs. I went for the amnio but I didn't go through with having it done. I had a good talk with the consultant who explained that there were additional things to look for as signs of Downs. The length of the little finger, the size and position of the ears, and rolls of skin at the back of the neck. None of these were present, and he put one question to me, and that is, "if the test was positive"
. Now at 19 weeks, there is no way that I would have contemplated anything other than seeing it through to the full 40 wks or whatever and keeping my baby whatever it was like. That is me though, I Was 35 and this was my 3rd child. So I went away and waited until my daughter was born.Luckily, she was not Downs-nothing wrong with her whatsoever. I wasn't willing to risk a miscarriage and I wasn't willing to teminate-whatever. It's a very personal choice, but even if it had been different, I wouldn't have regretted my decision. Good luck-big hugs!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -

Enough rambling from me - now, anyone have a good source for *truly* enormous maternity bras??
can't go wrong with the Bravissimo website and catalogue ! and best of all, since they specialise in big sizes they never make you feel like a freak for needing one, not like M&S...... grrrrr
they don't have a huge choice of maternity bras, but they do have a good choice of sizes...0 -
winnie81 thanks for that link
Rubie is now also officially squatting as from today
At least the end is in sight for you, when i saw the midwife on tuesday her head isnt engaged anymore so they have said they wont induce meShe did say theres a chance she could move back down during labour but its not very likely
Got to hang on and go back and see the midwife tuesday and see what happens then if she hasnt made an appearanceThe Only Thing Men Can Do Right Is Get Everything Wrong

Hello everyone
Just spotted this thread. I'm 35 and expecting our second daughter on October 28th which makes me 26 weeks ish I think, anyone else lose count??
I'm a stay at home mum for DD age 3, who is very excited at the prospect of a sister. We are currently enlarging our home and have builders in, installing a conservatory to give us some extra space - we are rearranging accommodation so that our former dining room can double up as a playroom/bedroom for stepson's occasional visits. Also been redecorating daughter's new bedroom so she can move out of her old nursery bedroom - that has been interesting in this heat!! Still all this work takes my mind of the pregnancy and it is flying by in a very scary fashion!
No major ailments having got over the horrendous sickness and total appetite loss of the first 12 weeks - anyone going through that at the moment, you have my sympathies, but trust me the appetite does come back.... WITH A VENGEANCE AND SOME!!
As others have mentioned, I have swollen feet and they look ridiculous. I read that even though it is water retention, it helps to take more water in which I have done over the past 2 days and they have definitely shrunk a bit, so you might want to try that.
Also getting pains in my hips, well, more like the centre of my bum cheeks, not sure if sciatica. Usually worse after have been exerting myself, perhaps should give up this decorating/cleaning thing!! Bloody nesting instinct is a pain, just want the house ready.
Looking forward to another steamy hot day again. Not!! At least my mum is taking DD off my hands for the day. Peace and quiet at last!0 -
hope the results are ok,thinking of you
*hugs*
