  • cats are opposite to dogs and avoid you. happened to both me and my friend. Mine have only recently started to come back to me. I wasn't sure if they could feel early movement when they came and sat on my knee.

as for cravings, i want to eat potato all the time - particularly jacket or mash.

And super sense of smell - that was one of the first give aways. My BIL took my car and serviced it, and a spot of oil was on the door. I would have normally not noticed, but i couldn't drive till i'd cleaned it up. It is so weird how everyone is so different.

    Michelle.

People who have fell off the list - it will be because someone who has added themselves will have copied a version of the list from before your addition, so you'll need to put yourselves back on.
  • I really hate the smell of tea, coffee and wine. I normally drink loads of tea (not all caffeinated though) but I haven't been able to drink it for over a month.

Orange squash.....made me throw up in the early stages. So I now avoid it completely.
Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.
Love to my two angels that I will never forget.
  • This is the last full list on here, why don't we take it from here as I noticed that I am missing.

I don't have any advice on how to improve your memory, but it gets worse when you've had the baby.;)

Goodluck all of you who are pregnant, just had or are trying

Some research ( sorry I don't have references!) shows that your brain can shrink by up to 3% during pregnancy, as the baby's brain grows it nicks your fatty acid chains that make up 20% of the brains dry mass.

This may explain problems with memory laspes

Mother nature looks after the baby first!

The brain then recovers with essential fatty acids from the diet but this takes time.:D

one suggested solution is to take an omega 3 supplement daily especially during trimester 3 when its brain is growing the most.

I read this somewhere but I can't remember where lol:o

An ex colleague ( now retired ) left her baby outside the newsagent in her pram. Got home and knew she'd forgotten something but was not sure what, then remembered, dashed back sobbing, her baby was fine, but she has has never lived it down.

Going back to smells and stuff, my friend went off the smell of her husband during each of her 3 pregnancies, and could not stand him near her, they must have gotten over this though, they are about to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.

as for cravings, there were no egg and cress sarnies left in the work canteen and I nearly burst into tears.

as for smells my GF is phsically sick when I put deordorant on now!

    &

as for bursting into tears, the funniest one was when we were on holiday & she lost a pound in a fruit machine and burst into tears! I gave her a hug and another pound & she seemed quite happy

    &

as for meals I've given up & eat on my own now - she goes to the supermarket on the way home from work and gets whatever she fancies that hour!

    very very strange.....

    worto.

Does anyone know of any good pregnancy books for young children to explain how a baby grows, e.t.c

My son doesn;t believe there is a baby in my tummy because he thinks you buy them in the shop and won't listern to my version.

I went off the smell of fresh bread early on and had a real hard time in the supermarket as they pipe the smell through to make you hungry. Bizarrely I was fine stood next to the fish counter!

Even more weird was our living room smelling like last year's Christmas mincemeat for about a week - in July!!
