Another new recruit!

I suspected I was pregnant last week as I felt sicky and there was no sign of my period. It was due on Thurday and hadn't arrived by Friday morning so I did a test that was positive. Was dead excited and bursting to tell someone but hubby was at work. Went out and did some work and came home lunchtime. Did another test to make sure and that was positive too.

Waited for hubby to come in. He was late as he'd decided to call in at his Gran's on the way home for a natter - typical! He finally came in and I showed him the tests. He broke into a massive grin that has been wearing ever since, and was straight onto the phone ringing relatives!

It's my third and his first baby. My two are 9 and 7 years old. They are both excited, especially the youngest who is already talking to my tummy and keeps rubbing it and saying "awwwww"

Need to speak to the practice nurse tomorrow as she was off on Friday. She is going to arrange my ante-natal appointments.

Spent the weekend reading healthy eating websites with hubby as I couldn't remember what foods you have to avoid. Been drinking extra milk daily, and thinking about buying some general pregnancy multivits. I'm borderline aneamic, so think I could do with some extra iron. Will ask the nurse tomorrow when I speak to her.

I've been looking on babycentre with my youngest son this evening as he wanted to see what the baby looks like. :cool: My husband is getting excited as baby will be developing nostrils next week

Can I join too? have been lurking around this board all weekend but couldn't find list to cut and paste (ok, I didn't really look very hard!!)
Had my positive result on Friday after trying since Jan / Feb. Repeated the test on Sat as couldn't quite believe the first one.
Trying not to get too excited as had positive result in june followed by early miscarriage, but last time the pink line was a weakish pink and this time it's bright pink -am trying to convince myself that means this is a healthier pregnancy but I know that is mad!!
Already have 2 children who will be 13 and 8 (eek!) when new baby is born.

Any good websights that allow you to track your pregnancy development with pictures of a growing featus in it. something that give your monthly/weekly advice on what to do for health and planning.

I know about the BBC and babyworld and babycentre sights but are there any other good ones?

Just about pregnant. Only 5weeks not.


Also what can you sigh up for so that you can get all sorts of free stuff as a pregnant person?

i don't like how close to the top of that list i'm getting.

First of all, congratulations to beccles, caleo and happysad. :j Great news.

with regards to websites, both the huggies and pampers sites have pregnancy calendars. I tend to prefer the huggies one, as that tells you a lot more about is happening to you, but the pampers one is better for pictures. Also, when you register they send you vouchers for money off nappies.

my favourite freebie place has been boots. If you have an advantage card you can register with their parenting club, and get free products worth at least £30, plus a free huggies changing bag.

emmas diary was a bit of a poor freebie. bounty pack was a lot better. I got vouchers for these from my midwife when she booked me in and gave me a big pack of leaflets to sort through.

The freebies board often has links on, if you do a search there, as i am by no means an expert.

Thats fantastic news. I'm so pleased for you all. Hopfully on Wednesday I'll also be able to add my name to the list.

I think Tesco has a parent club as well that it probably worth joining for vouchers and stuff. My friends are ini the club at the moment have raved about the Boots one, they've had al sorts of money off and free things for themselves.

Can I join in - our due date is 3rd Aprill - just in time for the new maternity laws

Not sure if it's a boy or a girl - in negotiations with the other half at the mo to decide if we're going to find out or not?

Just had the Dating scan anyway & waiting nervously for the 20 weeks scan now. Is everybody this nervous?

Been reading for a while now but I'vev only just told work so didn't want to post until then.
