    Congratulations and welcome:)

I know what you mean ... with my first I vowed to wait a minimum 12 weeks ... caved in and 'announced at about 6 weeks!!! (mind you I had to tell people really because they might have got suspicious at me throwing up all day long;) )

Have you spoken to Dr/MW? in some areas you get a dating scan at about 10 weeks ... so if they offer those scans in your area ... you might not have to wait that long to see your little one.

    take good care,xxpp05

    Thank you,

I went to see my doctor and he filled in a antenatal refferal from so I should hear from the hospital in the next couple of weeks.

I'm not sure if they do 10 weeks scan in my area.

When I had me first I had a scan at 12 weeks but lived in a different area.

I havent read all of these posts as there are just so many so fogive me if i am repeating a question. I am wanting to put my baby car seat in the passenger seat but cant as i have a passenger air bag. Does anyone know if i can get it disabled or switched off. There is nothing in the car to do it with (no manual swithch off) Was wondering if i could take it to a garage or whatever to get this done. My car is the new shape Nissan Micra (year 03) any one else been able to do this????
  • I wouldn't put my baby/toddler in the passenger seat, I'd rather let him/her cry in the (safer) backseat. Please don't.

Dooj - to disable the airbag you MUST go to the main dealer garage. They are the only ones qualified to do so.

Under no circumstances whatsoever, place your babe in the front with a carseat if the airbag has not been disabled properly.

I cannot stress this enough to ANYONE. In an accident, it will kill or seriously harm your baby. For those who don't know, when the airbag explodes it will push with such a force, the baby and the car seat. If its a rear-facing seat, the babe and car seat will be forced, head first, into the actual passenger seat. Baby gets squashed (simply put). In a forward facing car seat, the car seat is forced into the airbag, with baby squashed between the two.

BUT also, bear in mind, that babe will not be in the front seat all the time and will be useless for an adult if the need ever arose.

Best to put babe in the rear seats. If you need to see him/her and she is in a rear-seated car seat, purchase some dual mirrors - one fits over your rear view mirror so you can see all the seats in the back, and the second sits on the headrest of the seat babe is in and points down to babe. The reflection from one to the other shows you baby!

PS! Can anyone tell that one of my pet hates is kids not strapped properly into cars!!

I HATE it when I see Mum and Dad safe and secure, but not the kids - Cos "I'm a safe driver".

Yeah - what about the drunk behind you?

I have laughed so much at this thread, Brilliant!!

I had my boys 15 & 18yrs ago, both were fantastic births without any pain relief.
I did get there too late with the first one and as per usual mw thought I was over reacting when I kept saying (crying) that my OH would miss it, as I had told him to go to work an hour earlier (he did miss it!) So with the second I thought well I've done it once without pain relief I can do it again...19 hours later he was born but I can honestly say it wasn't that painful and the second stage of labour (the pushing bit) lasted all of 2min! Both Wonderful experiences.

Breastfeeding. I feed both for 16 & 12 months. It was painful for the first three wks but after that it was a doddle and again a wonderful experience! I'd do it all again, but Oh half fires blanks!! :rotfl:

So all you expectant and TTC don't be too put off or scared, we are all different and the best thing is your wee one.
  • Hello girls.... hoping your are all ok....

Well didnt have to wait too long this time and had a trainee with the scan lady but he just sat and watched so no probs. We took dd there and she was good as gold. It did say only one adult but they didnt worry about hannah being there-but i had a few talks with her to say you have to be quite etc etc.... Her face when she saw bumpy! She was all ' owwww theres bumpy!!' and tell me all the differnt body parts.

The lady did a big check up and oh course bumpy made it a little harder for her seeing certain bits, she tried 3 times to see the heart but finally she did! One time we saw the baby face very clearly (not just bones) and she tried to take a pic but guess what-bumpy thought begger this and turned away grrrrr

But the only thing isnt quite right is the Placenta, its low down and got to have another scan in december to see if it goes back up. If not have another scan maybe-could mean a c-section. But cross that bridge etc.. I'm not too worried for some reason well i was like that untill i was in woolworths and minding my own business when a girl about 7 ran full pelt round a corner and right into me! She did say sorry but her mother didnt bat a eyelid grrrrr, why is there some mothers just couldnt give a toss?? Well after that ifelt alittle faint and sick-maybe cause its hot in there and the shock of it? But its annoying its after the scan and not before.... i didnt have any pains or anything, so i'm hoping i'm over worring and nothing is up. But I'm sure i felt bumpy move.... right name for this baby isnt!!

Funny thing with this low lying Placenta-ive been feeling something down below for a while and thought it was the baby. The woman scanner said 'alot of women with this has said they have felt something down below or thinking its the baby moving about'. Well thats one q answered lol.... it might explain why i feel on my right side, that it feels like its been pulled alot??
    Cant wait to meet Bumpy!:j

Try not to worry Madam Broke...
I had low lying placenta at 20 week scan with son number 3 and at the 32 week rescan it had shifted so normal delivery was 'enjoyed' by me!! Same thing happened to my close friend too.
As for being assaulted by little darling in Woolies....remember baby is well cushioned but to put your mind at rest i am sure doctor/mw would rather see you and put your mind at rest than have you worrying.
    Good Luck :):)
  • Hi

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but Tesco are selling a lot of TT stuff half price. Have just gone up with the wife and bought loads. Seems quite a good deal when the steriliser is normally £40 but going for £19.99.

    Hope this helps some people

    Matt
