thriftlady don'y beat yourself up about it I too though I could have a natural delivery and ended up with an emergency section but in the end of the day what counts is that your baby is alive and well!

When I had my CS, I was laying on the bed, unable to feel from my ribs down. I called my DH over and told him that he was going to make me tea and toast and that he was going to do it now....I was a right moody cow just after, and had the most itchy nose for some reason.Oh....I'm not going to lie to you......At the end of the day, when alls said and done......do you know what I mean.........TIDY0

Have read through a couple of posts, its so long. I am 9wks pregnant with baby #3, due 28th March 07. Have a 3yr old son and a 16 month old daughter so looks like i will have my hands full! Only found out last week so its a bit of a shock.Deleted_User wrote:I have also only put on 2lbs during my pregnancy to date and it is thought by my MW that I am losing weight even though the baby is a good size. This has been making me extremely tired.
Can relate to this, i was 28wks pregnant with my first one before i put on any weight, up till that point i had lost 3 stone. No wonder you are feeling crappy with your horrible shifts. The part that i couldn't quite grasp, which is none of your fault, is that if she is so short staffed then why does you taking holiday days instead of unpaid leave going to help her rota?A banker is someone who lends you an umbrella when the sun is shining, and who asks for it back when it start to rain.0 -

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I bet it is a shock, still we are all here to help guide you through and at least you do know what to expect, not like us floundering first timers!
Re work, I don't know either, I guess the point being is I am entitled to annual leave, but not to unpaid leave, but still
I can't believe how much this thread has grown either. Everyone has so much to contribute. I am so pleased its been made a sticky, I can see this running for a long time.0 -
On one level I feel I've failed her, and on the other I'm just so glad that she is here and healthy.
Your job is partly to get her here...and you've done just that. The way you've done it doesn't matter. I'm told by my sister that when she was in hospital that it was usually the women having girls who had the problems.
Guess what....I'm having a girl.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Congratulations thriftlady. Be proud that you at least tried to do what you wanted. And thank you for sharing your experience, as, being a 1st time mum-to-be, i definitely have an idea in my head of how i want it to be, and from what you have said, i think i would react the same way. It is far better for me to have an idea of what may happen.
I have been to the midwife today for my 32 week appointment. My baby is head down already, though not engaged yet. Both of us are in good health, and thankfully i won't need any more blood tests as they are my least favourite bit.
I will be back again on the 20th of September.
I'm also feeling very pleased for my friend as she had been told the baby was breech and she might need a c-section, but nature has sorted itself out and she can carry on as she planned.
hope all you mum-to-bes are ok.

thanks for everyone for your support!
As fantastic as I think the whole idea of 'natural childbirth' and doing things as nature intended is, I also feel that there is sometimes a bit of unfair criticism levelled at mums who can't manage it. I tortured myself for the first couple of days thinking that if I could just have tolerated the pain for a few hours more then maybe she would somehow have become 'unstuck' and magically be born naturally! But the midwives in my hospital were amazing and when one of them sat down and explained to me exactly what had happened during my labour, and how baby just wasn't going to come out that way, it really was like the weight of the world had been lifted from my shoulders.
I'm a much more realistic and emotionally stable mummy now, I can tell you!!0 -
hi
just found out 2 days ago that i am 6 weeks pregnant.wont know exact till dating scan as i am very irregular.i had the same problem with my last and first who is 14 months old.still a bit shocked.it was planned but still scared to begoing through it again as i had a bad birth before.i nearly died and they advised for me next time to have a cersareum.had first midwife apointment yesterday and they dont wont be to.they like to keep the natural birth figures up down here.but i have been strong and demanded a consultant apointment.will see what happens then.now ive got to buy a name book again after i sold my last one.0 -
