Boy this thread has got long and confusing. It was hard work reading round the threads that got merged. Too much for my pregnancy brain to cope with.
I am trying to take it easy today. I've been running round like a mad thing for weeks, and noticed i was bleeding a bit yesterday. I am putting it down to not eating properly, and being stressed about living in the middle of a building site, and DH not being around as much as needed to sort it all out. I'm not worrying as little pud is still very active today.
I'm off on hols tomorrow to centre parks, so hopefully the rest is just what i need. I'm just wondering if this thread will have grown by as much after another week. Who'd have thought there would be so many pregnant people.0 -
My ovulation test is positive - aarrgghh what do I do!!?? Good grief this baby business is taking all the fun out of... I'm a tad confused now, as my basal temperature had risen this morning, which means I've already ovulated, but the LH in the ovulation kit has only gone up today. This is soooo complicated (my first round). I'm sure I'll chill out in a few months...
Anyway, wish me luck:wall:0 -

Yep - feeling better, found chocolate and really sorry for sounding so depressive. Just need a small soundbite occasionally (as we all know how useless hubbys are with that!)
I hate the first few months.0 -
Hi ladies,
I've got about 5 pages to catch up which I will do probably tomorrow, but I have a couple of questions and with my memory the way it is, I won't remember them then.
Firstly, I'm sure I read somewhere that its adviseable to buy some cheapy knickers about 10 from Asda or Primark etc for after the birth as you can bleed a lot. They are comfy than the disposable ones you can get in Boots.
But I also remember someone saying to get Always Night-time Long pads not maternity pads as they soak up more blood (sorry for the squemish!). Do hospitals mind which you take with you as they do they need to monitor how much blood your losing? I'm starting to think about items for hospital bag.
Also does anyone know anything about waterproof cot sheets? I need to buy one but are they all much the same? Does a cheapy one work just as well or is that false economy if they rip?
Thanks a lot ladies.

Yes, definately go for cheap knickers, much more comfy than Disposable ones, fit better, not going to rip and holds your pad much better.
As for pads, I usually buy one pack of maternity pads for immediately after the birth as the midwives do keep checking your blood loss. Then I have a pack of Always Nighttime in my hospital bag to use once the 10 maternity ones have gone. This time I have bought a pack of Always Long (whatever they are called) for when I no longer need the nighttime ones, saves having to get hubby to buy some as he usually picks wrong ones. Never had anyone question what I use and this is my fourth pregnancy.
Never used waterproof cot sheet, but I have bought the mattress's with the washable cover and placed an extra sheet at the top of the cot under the baby's head if necessary (2nd child had reflux and was sick day and night).
Hope this helps.0
