I have my first midwife appointment today. She said it would last about 30-45mins. Hope she is not going to have a go because I am overweight. I was trying to do something about it before I became pregnant, but my doctor said I shouldn't be dieting now that I am pregnant, as the baby needs all the energy / nutrients from my food. So am just maintaining my weight at the moment.

Will let you all know how I get on later.

I'm sure you'll be fine, Flis. My MW's are lovely and only mentioned my weight when calculating my BMI. I have to go for a glucose intolerance test in July as I may be of higher risk of getting diabetes. If your BP is high then they will monitor you more closely - mine was slightly high at my booking in but has remained exactly the same at each appointment.

I'm feeling left out now as I don't have a thing for Richard Hammond... :rotfl:

DH did catch me out ogling Daniel Craig in his trunks the other day though (well it was his fault for watching the DVD while I was trying to do boring paperwork! I thought I was being very discreet as well... I blame it on the hormones. :cool:)

But apart from that, my naughty dreams have been about DH :A :smileyhea

At my booking appointment I was the one mentioning my weight. My BMI is something like 35, although I was pleased that their scales were a bit more forgiving then my home ones. My BP was so low I thought I'd pass out when she told me...

Couldn't sleep with a bad back again... I wish I had never gone to that physio talk about excercise and posture, it seems I am doing everything in the book that is wrong! Sitting slouching lounging. All ill advised. :rolleyes:

im not happy at all today, ive got a horrible cough and i think its given me stomach ache (all the contracting of the muscles when you cough all the time i guess) at least i hope thats all it is....
and im pretty sue ive got tonsilitis too but im being a bit of a martyr about it, im allergic to penicillin AND pregnant so i very much doubt there is anything they can do for me

I could live with everything else if this ache would go away, its all in the left side of my bump and i dont like it.

and CG I sympathise I've been sneezing a lot the last few days (not sure if it's a cold or hayfever) but my left side is really sore and every sneeze if followed swiftly with an ouch. I tend to hold the bump too when I'm sneezing not cos it does anything but at least I feel like I'm not going to sneeze it off :rotfl:


and mmmmm Daniel Craig - although I prefer him in his tux
