p.s. I'm Mrs.Kennyjosiah in case you're wondering how he's managing to breastfeed (he's good but not that good)
I had it REALLY bad for a couple of days around then but now it just hurts literally for the first few seconds when she latches on. We got really stressed out about whether she was latching on properly because all the leaflets about breastfeeding say it shouldn't hurt if they're latched on properly but the midwife said that it's only if it's really bad through the whole of the feed that they're not latched on properly and that if the pain subsides during the feed then it's okay. I started using a breastpump after about 8 or 9 days (can't remember exactly) and now I express before going to bed early and my husband does the first night feed for me before he goes to bed0

I can call again at 15:00 but chances are that it will not happen. Asked what would then happen - oh well we will try again tomorrow but you are not a priority.
I have just sat and cried my eyes out as I am in so much pain - more so since the sweep that they carried out on Tuesday. Feeling really sorry for myself and partner just does not understand one iota as it means he gets the day at home now.
Hi, the last week is the worst all the waiting around (and the endless calls has she had it yet ? ) I was twelve days over !
You may find you are on the way to being in labour if you are having pains, I had the sweep but didnt have the pains so you may be lucky and be in labour naturally.
I was due to be induced on the Friday but they were very busy in the labour ward and didnt want to put me in labour if they couldnt cope, so I went home after a sweep (which didnt work) I was pleased to go home as I wanted to go into labour naturally - and came back in on the Sunday
I was successful after one pessary and had my baby within the hour once the pains started ! it was great and with gas and air close to hand ! hubby got to hospital with seconds to spare as she arrived into the world - and on his birthday too ! :cool:0

Called again this morning only to be told still could not go ahead! Again got very upset as now at the stage that moving around is too painful. Had to go to hospital yesterday as baby stopped moving to be scanned but thankfully all was ok.
I am seething that this has happened as it was the hospital that suggested induction and now it is not happening. Called again at 15:00 as advised only to be told that I should of been phoned to say it was not possible and they apologise.
I have to call again now in the morning at 08:00 but I am not holding out much hope. I am starting to wonder how many days they are going to put me off. All twinges have stopped so no signs of natural labour.
At this rate I will still be pregnant next month!!!:mad:0

Sorry to see your news Nadnad. Hang on in there.congratulations to all the new arrivals - what a busy week!!!

I found that movement slowed down when I was busy or tired. I was told to have a fizzy sweet drink and that the sugar (and probably e-numbers!) would get them going. It is true that its easier to feel them move when you are laid still and quiet. If you are worried just give your midwife or local pre-natal ward. They are usually quite happy to monitor you if you haven't felt anything for a day or so. If it's just less then probably nothing to worry about.
Also, depending how big you are, they do start to run out of room so movement does become less 'big' if you see what I mean.
Hope this helps and everything else is well with all you expectant mums & dads.

            hugs Banana,
I'd keep ringing if I were you. Keep reminding them that you are very overdue and need to be priority. Is there another hospital near by you could go to? Without meaning to worry you, The last thing you (or they) want is you to suddenly become an emergency. Thes is your baby, your body and your healthcare and if you need it now, you need it NOW!
 Good luck

Like Lu said, laying down after a fizzy drink usually does the trick for everyone.im 23 weeks now, just wanted to ask about movement, i was getting really strong kicks but this last week have hardly felt anything, although i have felt some movement, just not as much or as strong as before. i have been working though and wasnt beofre that so could that be why?

Perhaps the baby is just in an awkward position? I guess the main thing is that you're still feeling movement, and whether it's strong or not probably doesn't matter that much. I get stronger movements some days, and occasionally less stong, but as long as they're regular (-ish), I'm not worried about other stuff. 0 0

You are doing better than me! I haven't been offered any classes or even info/booklets yet. I think my midwifery team are hopeless!
P.S. Please can somebody put me on the list for 19/8/07 because I'm getting lonely not being on the list.
 Thanks
 Ella
Just adding Ella on to to the list as I didn't want her to feel ignored.
