I'm not sure if I can officially join you yet, but I did a pregnancy test a couple of hours ago and got a big thick pink line - positive :j
I'm very excited, but also scared as this is my first pregnancy. I don't feel pregnant at all, and don't really have any symptoms (except my boobs are a bit sore).
Can anyone tell me what I need to do now?
I'm going to do another test in the morning, and if that's positive then I'll go to the doctors to confirm it. Will they do a blood test or anything?
Also - is there anything I need to be doing or not doing? I don't have a clue.
Congratulations Yorkshirechick.
Do you know when you are due yet. I am dying to hear when we are getting our first EDD in 2008 baby !0 -
Congratulations YorkshireChick! x0

Glad to hear that your scan was a success. What were you so scared about ? If you aren't feeling baby already, I am sure it won't be long.
I would love to have a 4D scan, but it isn't to be.
Best of luck
Thanks Zoom. I was very scared that something would be wrong. I had no reason to believe that it would be (especially after hearing the heartbeat last week!) but I guess I'm just a pessimist
PS: Not sure if I have felt the baby yet but hope to soon!

Congratulations to all the new mums and mums to be.
Regarding 4D scans - we're going to the Baby Show in Birmingham this weekend and are on the cancellation list for a 4D scan so hopefully will get one then, otherwise we're not going to bother.
My hips have been much better since I started taking Painkillers on Thursday night, unfortunately they make me sick all the following day so have had to stop them (thought my MS had come back I've only been without it for 4 weeks and I'm 28 weeks today). I'm seeing the MW later today so hopefully she can recommend something else to take. I also find out about my birthplan, anti-natal classes and whether I am still measuring too big. Was right at the top end of the scale when I went 3 weeks ago so hopefully I had slowed down a bit I really don't fancy having a 9lb'r ++ as the last MW told me I would if I continued to grow at the same rate. DH is coming with me too to hear bumps heart beat as he missed out last time and got a bit upset.
I am now feeling baby move on a really regular basis and last night whilst sat at the computer had a foot (or something) in my ribs, most uncomfortable, but very comforting IYKWIM.0 -
Congrats Snaggles - lovely news :j
And best wishes to all the newly pregnant Mam's and everyone who has had scans.
Not logging on as regular now and it's hard to keep up!Here I go again on my own....0 -
Congratulations Yorkshirechick.
Do you know when you are due yet. I am dying to hear when we are getting our first EDD in 2008 baby !
I went to the doctors this morning - after doing a second test to make sure it still said pregnant.
My due date is around 12th January :T
I need to see the midwife now, but can't get an appt til 26th June (by which time I will be 11 weeks) as I'm on holiday for 2 weeks at the beginning of June. I have to ring her next week and see if she could possibly see me sooner.
The docs sent me home with loads of info.
Am going to have a read through today, and keep my fingers and toes crossed that everything will be ok up to 12 weeks.
BTW - When does morning sickness usually start?Debts May 09 [strike]£100 Od[/strike], [strike]£1550 boiler[/strike], [strike]£1750[/strike] £400 credit card  Goal - to 3k of savings by Oct 2009 in time for Baby num 2 :j Total so far £12000 -
Wonderful news. Be sure to add yourself to the list.
If you are really lucky MS may never start, but with all three of mine, it started within minutes of getting a +HPT, which is why I delayed testing myself with DS2 for 5 days and now with this one for 12 days.
I am 14 weeks today, and I have much less MS than I did, but it is still there a tiny bit. It was the tiredness that really hit me in the beginning.0 -
Hi All!
Congrats to all who have given birth & to all the newbies!:T
I've been off work all week. Got up on Tuesday to find that i'd been spotting,
rang my GP & spoke to the midwife who booked me in for a scan at EPAU.
She was brilliant,Very reassuring!
Anyway i've been for my scan this morning,I'm pleased to say that all's well!
Saw the heart beating,baby measures 8mm & so i'm 6wks 4 days pregnant.
It's really quiet amazing that they can tell so much so early on. It all feels real now! :j
Hope everyone else is doing ok!?
BeckyOur 1st baby is due 29th December 2007! :rudolf:
I'm hopeful that this get's me out of cooking Christmas dinner!
Baby Ruby arrived after 55 hours of labour & an emergency c section on Christmas Day at 14.41 weighing 6lb 6oz...And yes I did get out of cooking Christmas dinner!!:rotfl:0 -
Becky: glad everything is okay and they gave you a scan so quickly to reassure you. I had some spotting in my first pregnancy, and everything went well, so it is pretty common.
Yorkshirechick: congratulations! 12th Jan is my DH's birthday, so it's a great date!
You might be lucky and not get morning sickness at all. I was never actually sick, just a bit nauseous for a couple of months, but not everyone gets it necessarily. Good luck.
Septemberbaby: glad the scan went well! :j Regarding the 4D thing, I've mentioned before we were very lucky and got a short freebie 4D scan with my 20 week scan, and it was great. I wouldn't have considered it normally, but it was actually really lovely. We got a pic of the baby's face (he's the spitting image of his big brother, awww :happyhear ), and it's really nice (before, I've sometimes thought the 4D images are a bit, well, freaky, but when it's your own, it's actually lovely!).
So I'm almost inclined to say, if someone else is paying for it, go for it!But it's your decision - you might want to get MIL to buy you something a bit more practical with the money. It's a tough choice.
