Just read up - you only need to have paid 13 weeks NI in your "test period" (the 66 weeks before baby is due) to get full MA.

Make sure your small earnings certificate is cancelled though. Even if you pay NI but still hold the certificate, you'll still only get £27 MA.
Here I go again on my own....

Thanks you so much Becles, you're a star, I really did try reading up myself on all of this but I just couldn't work out what it meant! You've really helped me :-)

  • Thanks for the colour advice everyone, I'm so indecisive at the moment!

The only reason we're bothering to decorate is because its been the same since we bought the house nearly 3 yrs ago!! And cos it was half blue and half white with the most horrendous border I have ever seen. Also there was carpet on the floor but not fitted correctly with no underlay and just a few sheets of old newspaper! Will definatley be looking into reminants, the room is only about 5 foot by 8 foot big so not paying out a fortune!

I'm 34 weeks today, and I've had enough now!

Bump is massive and heavy to carry around all day. I've got swollen feet and ankles, so wearing any shoes is a problem. I just ache all over now and I'm tired all the time as I can't get comfy in bed and keep waking up stiff or for a wee. Looking forward to birth now, and desperately hoping (s)he arrives early!

I came off the pill a couple of months ago and started getting bad headaches, and aches and pains. Have since had one period approx 40 days after finishing pill. All I can say is it takes time./

    Hi Guys

Hope that you are all well. I feel odd today, bit emotional about a friend who is having difficulties with pregnancy. I feel like I just want to munch on choc- My sweet tooth is back. I am stressing about DD1 who is very emotional at mo. Seeing HV re: her on Mon. I am pretty sure she is worried about baby no 3 coming along but won't / can't discuss with us how she is feeling.

I did two hours walking with job last night. Used support bandage and didn't have any aching which was great. Only 8 more weeks of work and then 9 months off. Woo hoo.
