Re: bras, I'm just back from M&S and they've got a sale on, and some non-wired bras are down to £3! :money: :j They are even quite nice ones (well, not the most horrible 80-year-old granny ones anyway, IYKWIM ), and I picked one up in black, which makes a nice change as most of my bras at the moment are boring and white.

I've been wearing bras 24 hours a day since about 5-6 weeks as my boobs did grow very quickly this time and are very sore at night (not so much anymore, but I'm still more comfy wearing a bra at night). After DS was born and I leaked so much, I wore bras 24/7 for months on end, so I reckon I'll be a full-time bra wearer for the next, ooh, year and a bit! :eek: :rolleyes:

Can I say hello... my name is Sarah and am expecting our first baby on the 16th. Feeling tired, uncomfortable, stroppy, hungry and skint!! Very excited but do not have many 'friends with babies' so dont really have anyine to talk to about pregnancy etc.

Does anyone have any tips for bring on labour as I am so huge it hurts 24/7.

Congrats on your 1st baby..
This forum is great for any advice you need so please use this then you will feel less like lonely!
Im not sure there are any techniques to bring on labour other than old wives tales such as hot curry, hot baths, lots of sex. eating pinapple...
unless of course you get inducted at hospital which im sure brings on labour a.s.a.p but i havent had that pleasure..
It isnt long to go now babe and your little arrival will be here..cherish these last weeks and do something for yourself before it all goes a bit mad..
treat yourself to a manicure or facial..your local collage's beauty bit will do them for really cheap! as they are beauty students and need people to practice on!
so wont cost the earth.....

Well after myself and dp both saying we would stop at 2 children, I am desperate for another! The broodiness just crept up on me out of nowhere, I get all watery eyed when thinking about it!

Dp's initial reaction when I very casually mentioned it to him was of utter suprise. He thought I was winding him up, but then those watery eyes kicked in. That was last Saturday, by Sunday evening after coming out of shock he thought it was a great idea.

We have 2 boys, ds1 is 5 in a few days and ds2 is 2 and a half. I can almost hear the reaction when talking to friend - "Oh, you're trying for a girl now!" but genuinely I just want a third child, either sex. Pretty sure my partner feels the same way.

Have added myself to the tcc list as the fun starts tonight! - sorry tmi I know.

Congrats to all those that have had their lo's and those that are pg. Us lot that are ttc, well it won't be long and we will be changing lists (and nappies!).

Hi Purplepatch, unfortunately I bounded in at my doctor's appointment with last period date etc etc so can't now try that one. Bit too much enthusiasm I think!

I did that too, but after being educated by my friend, at 2nd appointment I said that I was concerned about dates as I seemed much bigger than first pregnancy early on and I said that the last period I had was very light... and was it possible to have a bleed once already pregnant type thing... and we all know it is don't we Luckily she agreed that I felt big for dates, so it might be worth a try?? Desperate measures and all that....

Also, you say you mentioned it to the doctor, but if your place is anything like mine, the midwife will be entirely unaware of what has been said to the doctor. Go in there and be vague as anything... well I think the last period was around such and such date, but I'm not totally sure... yes you'll look a bit dozy, but worth it to get a scan before 20 weeks.

If you plan to have the quad/triple test for DS, you will possibly find they do a dating scan as standard - they do round here.

Good luck - annoying to have to resort to this isn't it.

re; early scans, we paid for one at ten week at the leeds screening centre http://www.leedsscreeningcentre.co.uk/
it was £70 i think, it was a dating scan but they do other ones there too. if you try a google search you will find s few places do them but im not sure where you live.
it was well worth the money!
