My wife had a misscarriage last year, at 8 weeks.

She is now 5 weeks gone, done the tests everything OK, she is very sleepy, but no morning sickness, are we getting worried over nothing ?

Or can you go through a pregnancy without being sick ?

Tiredness, weeing, sensitive boobs, missed period are all symptons of pregnancy. Don't worry about missing the MS.

I have no idea on the stress of worring about MC, so only wish the time until your scan flies by, so that you can be reassured !

India, you got to 34 weeks without antacids?? Wow... My GP was sure about Gaviscon, but Rennies, which my hubby eats regularly also specify indigestion on pregnancy. Yum.

Is it 10am tomorrow morning yet?? That's when my 12wk scan is and I have no idea what to expect. What do I wear? Will they give us photos? Will it hurt ( )? Will they be able to tell anything is wrong/right? Aaarrggghhh!

On the bright side, it's my gorgeous nephew's second birthday tomorrow and rumours are there will be Pingu themed cake! :D

I did get indigestion with my first child and this time it started about a week ago. I'll count my blessing then.

Good Luck with your scan. Just wear something that you can easily show ur belly in. They do give a picture some give the, free or for a donation some charge anything from £2.00-£5.00. It does hurt but they put some cold gel on your belly. At 12 weeks it's just the dating scan to confirm your pregnant and make sure you dates are correct.

Good luck for tomorrow, Agutka. :)

I don't really find that scans hurt. It is uncomfortable when you have a full bladder and they're pressing on it, but it's not too bad and you're too busy looking at the baby on the screen anyway. :D

It made me laugh the other day when I was watching some programme where a woman was getting her scan, and they gave her about 10 pictures! I've only ever got one at the first scan, so methinks someone was trying to be extra nice in front of the cameras!

At my 12 week scan I got 1 picture but at my 20 week scan I got about 8. The lady just gave them to me.

That wasn't ten kids and counting was it? I saw them doing the same thing on that I also noticed she had to squidge up her, um, tummy area so they could scan her, that cheered me up no end! My alarming tummy area was putting me off the whole baby thing, now I have no excuse (just kidding, I know the less tummy you have to start with the better. Although I am very broody, my friend has just had the most gorgeous baby girl)
Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!

That's the one! And yes, now I remember the tummy lift up moment  But then again, after 10 kids, I'm not surprised... :o

Generally speaking, how many scans do you normally get (for a non complications pregnancy)?

You normally have two..one at around 12 weeks to check dates and one around 19/20 weeks depending on where you live..
1st one is weird as you dont quite know what to do..strip off..take trousers off..what..!!?
thankfully they just rub the jelly on your tum and away you go..
same with 2nd scan..both slightly uncomftable because of full bladder but amazing at the same time!!
we got 5 pics from the 1st scan and 8 from the last..didnt have to pay for the 1st lot but paid £5 for the 20 week one..
have noticed some people have had a nice green frame thingy for their scan pic.. i didnt get one!!
figured it was because it was my second baby..

Thanks everyone. My leaflet said I don't need a full bladder :p , so that will be of enormous help discomfort-wise. I wonder what they can make up with the dates - I am very sure of everything, including conception ;) . AND they will be measuring that nuchal translucency thingy, but hopefully all will be well.
I hope they give/sell me two photos, as I will want one to give to Mum, who is off to Poland this weekend, so she can show off new grandchild to the family!

I can't stand the excitement. I've wanted to go to bed since 6pm, so it would be tomorrow quicker :D . Just like Xmas...

Where I used to live we also had two. One at 13 weeks, and the other at 26 weeks. With my second I have numerous more, as my placenta was very low down and they were concerned that it would block the birth canal. Fortunately it 'moved' out the way at 37 weeks.
