Congrats Charlotte - lovely news :T

Did you do anything to prevent being stitched? I was just reading something yesterday that said rubbing olive oil on your perineum from 34 weeks helps it stretch better, and I was wondering if it worked :o
Here I go again on my own....

Congratulations on the safe arrival of your little one Charlotte!

Afraid I'm gonna have a moan too. Well, it all started off well. Had my dating scan on Friday and was over the moon to see bubs bouncing and carrying on on the scan! It was amazing to see how detailed it was even at this stage. Then on Saturday started bleeding again. Heavier than ever this time, like a proper period.....It lasted most of the day and is starting to be a weekly occurence. I don't know why it is happening and no-one can tell me. even though I have googled like mad can't find anything online.Don't know what to do with myself, have decided to cut back on working (was part-time anyway) but don't know what else to do....

    Congrats Charlotte!!

rachelja, you must be sick of it by now! I do hope it all settles down for the rest of your pregnancy - and that they give you answers, nothing worse than mysterious symptoms.

Dormouse you poor poor thing. I get these very often - last lot I had - five in four months went away when I got pregnant, so fingers crossed. Phenomenal pain - you say labour is better? Fab! I'll live then! I do hope they gave you ear spray or drops with anti-everything in it. Oral antibiotics did nothing for me and I was told by some doctors that there is not enough blood vessels in the ear for them to reach the infection. I am glad I am not in your shoes... Get better soon!

Myself, I went to the pub for the first time last night. Drank two pints of some juice cocktail, but got treated like a princess when I told my friends about the pregnancy. I was offered a seat at all times and scraps of food! how special is that! :rotfl:

Congrats Charlotte - no stitches after a big baby, you must be so pleased - and you've certainly given me hope. DD1 was only 6 1, so no stitches, but I think this one will be bigger and the thought of being cut and stitched is SCARY!

rachelja try not to strss too much - take it as easy as you can. Another lady I know went into prem labour at 29 weeks, and somehow, 7 weeks later, baby is still snug and warm inside of her. She just followed drs orders.

Looking at the EDD list today, there are 7 ladies over their due date, take them off and then I'm number 4 - makes it seem SOOOOOOO close, and so scary!!!!!! I think that knowing what to expect has made me more apprehensive. (I can't wait really, I want this baby here!)

PS picked up a bargain in argos today - a baby bouncer for £9.99 fisher price aquarium bouncer, it is a clearance line - limited stocks, but certain places on the internet are still £39.99! Cat number 375 1332. :j (Argos website says it needs c & d batteries - it doesn't - only D's!

    Hi Rachel

Hope the bleeding settles down. Taking it as easy as you can does seem like the most sensible option. Have you booked in an extra appointment with your midwife, just to see if she can offer you any more advice?

Charlotte664 - congratulations on the safe arrival of baby Ruby.

I'll add my neck pain to the misery list - at 4am we spent nearly an hour on the phone to NHS direct to see if I could take more paracetamol as I'm thrown up not long after the last ones but we had to give up as there was no response so phoned our GPs out of hours service who said, 'erm dunno' you can take some ibuprofen but not with the paracetamol. Thanks clear as mud then... So having taken no drugs so far I'm not on paracetamol to the max dose at night time and have finally given in and had a couple of iburpofen to tide me over till I get to the chiro tomorrow. OH couldn't really deal with me throwing up, crying and shouting at him cos he thought I should 'try to relax more and not take drugs' at 5am  Bless him he had to get up for work today too.
Oh no, poor you as well! :o

The GP I went to see about my ear said absolutely no ibuprofen, no matter what. However, she did mention I could in theory have something with paracetamol and codeine in it (can't remember what it's called) if the pain gets really bad. It's funny how they all give different advice - not very helpful, is it.

Hope you feel better soon anyway - I've had a bit of neck pain as well but I think it's due to my funny sleeping positions with 3 pillows :o

I did that, although a bit half-heartedly (it is a funny thing to be doing, let's face it, LOL) and only a few times, before I had DS, and I didn't tear. Have no idea whether it had anything to do with the oil
