I've put this on the parent club thread, but thought it worth a mention here as these are such a great invention if you are planning to bottle feed. Forget the cumbersome steriliser on the worktop and the having to wait to have sufficient clean bottles to warrant putting it on. These steriliser bottles from mothercare are so handy, you can go out visiting only taking one bottle with you as long as you have access to washing up facilities and a microwave - one bottle sterilises in 90 seconds on high. I only wish I'd discovered them sooner as I used huge avent steam steriliser for DD1 and first 3 months of DD2 - now I'm a total convert. They are £14.99 for 6 or £7.99 for 3. My local mothercare only stocks the 3 pack (and most of the time they are out of stock anyway) but I wanted 6, so they ordered it over the internet for me instore and they were delivered to my home address with the delivery charge waived.
Hope that helps someone.0 -

This may seem like a silly question but are they re-useable?
We'll be going away when the baby is 3 months so these would help alot.0 -

Absolutely, they are reusable. Superb invention - I also bought them with our holiday in mind, but they have now become everyday essentials in our house!0 -
Just wondering if anyone knows anywhere I can find out what bottles are compatible with a given breastpump? I'm looking at the Medela mini electric but I can't find any info about what bottles it's compatible with so wondered if anyone either knows the answer or where I might find it?0

Also just wondering if anyone else has got anything from the toys-r-us baby club? I joined just over a month ago but haven't had anything at all from them.0

Sooo, this might just be the most ridiculous question ever asked, but I'm going to ask it anyway.....
At the moment I'm 16 weeks and 3 days. For the first 13 weeks I was constantly sick, didn't sleep a full night because I ws up to the loo all the time and when I wasn't being sick or peeing I was asleep or at work (or asleep at work!) To add to this, I look easily 6 months prg as I have such a huge bump, although the midwife said that this was nothing to worry about.
Two weeks before we found out we were expecting, my DH began going out with his mates from work on a thursday night. At the time I was working thursday nights in a local pub so it really didn't bother me. I finished working there just after new year, as I was too tired to keep it alongside a full time job. DH continued to go out with the blokes from work. Three or four weeks ago, DH happened to mention the name of a couple of other women who were also out at the place they go. I didn't really think much of it (people tend to talk to other people, right?) until it began to emerge that these two girls have been out each thursday for about the last 7 weeks. There are 3 guys who go out. DH is 30 next month, his mate is 46 and then there is the baby of the group at 24. Both of his mates are single and will chase anything at all in a skirt. I've never EVER been a jealous person - but over the last couple of weeks it has been on my mind constantly that he could well be having an affair with the younger of these two women - Sarah apparently, although I can't justify any reason why he would other than the fact that I've been sick and tired and none of my clothes fit me anymore. Our sex life has been none existent for the reasons mentioned above, and I just feel that it wouldn't be a surprise if he found somebody who was better looking and had more energy. I've have spoken to him about it but he says that I have nothing to worry about and it's probably just hormones. I just wondered if anybody else has felt like this while they've been pregnant - I'm really sorry that this has been so long :eek:Lightbulb Moment: January 2006

Short of Cash.
You have to talk to him about it. Yes - we all fell like fat lumps, whales etc and feel funny like this all time. BUT you may or may not be right (he is unlikely to admit anything, but may well stop something before it starts IYSWIM?)
Big hugs too. Its not great feeling like poo and down at the same time. Men just don't get this at all.
But talk to OH and ask him what he really wants from life. Perhaps this Dad thing is overwhelming him a bit.0 -
aw Short of Cash welcome to the irrational thoughts of the pregnant woman (we need a hug emoti!)
all things are of course possible but it's unlikely that the thought has even entered his head. However, it's worrying you so you should at least talk to him about it.
And he probably thinks you look gorgeous even though you feel like crap0 -
Hi all.
Thanks for your replies. I did try to talk about it on Thursday night when he came back (I was so worried I couldn't sleep!) but I felt really stupid and was quite worried that if he hadn't considered being with somebody else already, it might put the idea into his head. I just don't get it. I'm 25 and normally a very rational person. I'm the one my mates ring when they think their boyfs are playing away. I feel so stupid! He did say that if him going out really bothered me, then he would stay in this week. The he mentioned about fifteen minutes later that this Sarah person wasn't going to be out for another two weeks. Obviously I hit the roof and I think it was only then that he realised how it sounded. Grrr at me!Lightbulb Moment: January 2006

SoC your hormones are all over the place and you're short of sleep - you're not going to do rational very well...
And having these kinds of conversations when you're in a crisis moment are always worse. Have a chat with him at some point this week before Thursday night. I'd try to make it nonspecific too or you could end up getting obsessed about this Sarah when it's the general idea that he might want to be with someone else rather than the alien creature you feel you're becoming...0
