I had all sorts of odd twinges etc. It felt a lot of the time like I was tensing my abs when I wasn't and I'd get sharper pains for brief periods usually at the sides. With that and the indigestion it was all quite uncomfortable. Calms down quite quickly though.

Has anyone had irritated nasal passages due to pregnancy?

I've had a stuffy nose for months but put it down to my sinuses as I do suffer with them anyway. Mentioned it when I was in the doctors and she said my sinuses are fine, but the pregnancy hormones have irritated my nasal passages which is what is causing the stuffy nose! I've been given a nasal spray to use to calm it down.

I wouldn't have thought pregnancy would irritate your nose!

yep it's mentioned in a couple of books that I have and I'm not sure if my symptoms are early hayfever (although as we've got 8" of snow today I doubt it ) or pregnancy. It's annoying but at least it means I'm too bunged up most of the time to smell too many things so it helps the nausea... :rotfl:

It's common to get a stuffy nose in pregnancy. Also, it's common for your gums to bleed. I have the stuffy nose but fortunately not the bleeding gums.

It does mean that I snore now which makes it harder to tell DH off for doing it!

Cramping, pulling, stretching pains are normal too. I got a lot more this time than I have in the past. There's a lot going on there early on. Obviously any pains you're not sure of should be checked by a doctor. The pain was so bad when i was about 6 weeks pregnant that I went to get checked out. They thought it might be an ectopic pregnancy due to where I was feeling the pain. Turned out to be my bladder playing up becuase I had a bladder infection.

Urine infections are very common in pregnancy, but they MUST be dealt with as it can be very dangerous for the baby if it is allowed to progress.

Yep, horrendous snottiness all the way through (including back of throat which was nice during the morning, noon and night sickness stage, gag gag ewwww) and dare I say....... bogeys galore!! :o:D

Funnily enough hubby didn't seem too impressed when I told him about this strange phenomenon :rotfl:

Also, and expect linked to the same thing, I used to find my ears blocking up all the time.

Oh, and a twitching eye nerve - what's that all about for goodness sake

All symptoms disappeared as soon as bubs arrived.

And about the stretching twinges, you get them again in the couple of days after your baby is born as the uterus contracts back again. I was amazed how painful they were with second baby - midwife said that they get worse with every child. Just to warn others that this can happen as I didn't know and was quite alarmed until I was told it was normal.

I remember those after-pains! They seem to come worse when you are breast feeding. A nurse told me that it's because a hormone is released when your milk starts flowing which helps your uterus contract back to normal quicker. Another good reason to breast feed

Nobody had told me about them and after I had my first born, I thought it was because I hadn't been for a poo and kept asking for laxatives from the nurses

Well I've moved myself from TTC to the EDD list (cautiously). I am so scared and I feel sick. My first appointment with the midwife is 12th March and it seems an age away. Twice in the last week my mother has asked me if I am pregnant. Mind you she has had a habit of asking this at various intervals since I met OH.

I am so scared of something going wrong, I can hardly even believe I am pregnant. I have done two tests, yet have an urge to keep repeating them, as if I need to see if there in black and white to convince myself.

I sort of wish I hadn't found out for a couple of weeks yet. Does anyone know what I mean? I am delighted, don't get me wrong, this is the best news... it's just so overwhelming.
