Punky wrote:Just updated the list and deleted my due date as I've suffered a miscarriage at 12 weeks. Emergency ERPC following heavy bleeding. Second miscarriage (last one at 14 weeks) but I won't give up. I already have a beautiful boy (3 1/2) and consider myself extremely lucky. I wish you all happy and safe pregnancies. Best wishes, Punky x
Take care of yourself, Punky.
I know quite a few of us on here have been in your position and there isn't anything really useful to say, but just wanted to pass on my best wishes. xx0 -

So sorry to hear your news punky, I hope you have better luck next time and that you get lots of love and support at home.
To incognito and fac73, I completely understand how you feel - it's that limbo thing, made worse by the rest of the world being totally unaware of what's going on. I too worried about the scan and whether it had all been a mistake, and everyone told me about how it would be fine, but it didn't make a blind bit of difference to me and I still worried until I saw the little wriggler, so I won't go on about it! What I did experience that is hard for some people to understand is a spell of what I liken to the depression I experienced a few years ago. My pregnancy was a surprise and although not unwanted I felt totally shocked. Everyone was pleased, but I found it really difficult to be around people and to cope with normal situations. Looking back I have no doubt that it was a combination of the enormity of what was ahead and my hormones having a rave. But at the time I almost went to see my GP because I felt so bad - and nobody ever tells you it can be like that. So if you feel melancholy, numb or detached, be good to yourself and give yourself time and space to deal with the emotions. Although it's not in the books (everyone's supposed to be jumping for joy at that stage if you listen to the 'experts') I would have felt reassured to know that other people struggled in the early weeks.
After spouting all that, I shall return to my box of Kleenex (have had huge and very petty row with OH about washing the futon cover, and spent most of weekend crying irrationally, and burst into tears while visiting a client last week - professional!) and wait for someone to tell me that it's normal to be a wreck at 16 weeks!0 -
