Oh, Davina, that sounds hard. The best of luck to you. xMay all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

My midwife said to just eat as much as you can, and don't get worried about not eating enough. Anything you do eat gets digested and all the good bits go to the baby first, and you end up with the left overs. So you might feel undernourished, but baby will be fine!
If you have SPD, it's not a good idea to go to a football match and jump around like a lunaticSunderland won yesterday but I'm paying the price today and can hardly walk
Here I go again on my own....0 -

I did another test... very definitely positive...! It hasn't sunk in, at all - I suppose that takes a while.0

Congratulations fac73!
Don't worry im sure when all the (joys) of pregnancy kick in, it will REALLY sink in. By joys i mean the constant visits to the loo, weight gain, morning sickness, ........... the list goes on. Just kidding, even thought there are some lows, there are some great highs. Pregnancy is a wonderful experience.
Good luck and enjoy.0 -
Congratulations fac73! I'm not sure if it ever really sinks in - I keep looking at DS (6 years old) and thinking 'How weird, I'm a Mum....how did that happen???' and I still can barely believe there's another on the way.
Gosh Gingham, you have had a really rough time, I'm sorry to hear you're still in pain. Hope the next week or two pass quickly for you, and the birth is much more straightforward than the pregnancy has been. It will all be worth it when you have your lovely little baby in your arms I'm sure. I really admire your positivity, with your 'glass more than half full' comment.
I'm 26 weeks now, and have only put on 3lbs, so I can sympathise with those struggling to eat (NEVER had this problem before lol!!). If I overdo it, acid pours up the back of my throat for hours afterwards, and I feel bloated and uncomfortable. I just try and make sure I am getting a good mixture of foods, including lots of fruit and veg. She's kicking like a donkey in there and she's obviously got plenty of energy, so I'm not too worried."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Thanks, Snaggles.
The acid thing really is a nightmare, but something you don't have to suffer. I'm on 150mg of ranitadine twice a day for it. It doesn't get rid of it completely but without it the acid makes me sick and triggers my asthma. Ask your GP or obstetrician and explain how bad it is. There are other things they can try that are like gaviscon. I was on peptac for a while. They might be suitable at different stages of pregnancy so do check.
If the burning is going up into your face and head, don't delay. It's unbearable. I read (on here?) someone saying that when she had this she blamed her husband for putting a chilli in her mouth when she was sleeping!:rotfl:May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
