I'm going to try and wait until tomorrow - aren't tests more likely to be accurate first thing in the morning? So I just need to take my mind off it for today I think. :o

Hi everyone. I hope I did this right, just inserted my name where I'm due. I've been so busy looking round the DFW forum that I didn't even realise this was here until someone mentioned it!! Hope you are all well.....?

    Hi Sarah

Welcome to the Pregnancy thread and congrats on the pregnancy.

I'm just under 17 weeks and I've come on here because I've just been feeling baby's first distinct movements! I'm really excited. :D

    Yup. That's a positive!:j

Okay, I really need a moan so I apologise for being selfish.

I have had hyperemesis since I was newly pregnant. I have had an e-coli infection in my bladder most of the time and have been on antibiotics most of the time. I have been hospitalised for both of these things a few times.

I am on ranitadine, cyclazine, cephalexin, flixotide and ventolin with co-codamol to take as needed. I am on bed rest.

2 weeks ago I was admitted with strong pains coming every 3 minutes and I was given steroids incase the baby came early. I was in a couple of nights and although the pains didn't stop, they didn't turn into anything either and I was told I have an irritable uterus. I have not had more than an hour since without a tightening. Some are painful, most are not but that's 2 weeks of contractions (Braxton Hicks) including through the night without a single break.

To add insult to injury, I have pains down the front of my bump and I've been told today that it looks like my stomach muscles are splitting again. They did with my pregnancy with my son too and I could put my whole fist in the gap between them for months after he was born. This does not bode well for my back.

He has been 4/5ths engaged for weeks and my hips (and other parts) hurt.

I'm supposed to be having a section a week on Tuesday and now I'm getting into a tiz that something will go wrong before then.

~I'm tired and fed up and , God knows how much I love this baby, but I swear I hate being pregnant.

There I said it. :o (sigh)

in light of all your complications GR, is there any possibility they could bring your c-section forward a few days?

Nope. I have asked. I just want him to get here safely. I'd be happier if someone could assure me he'll be okay but none of us get that!

    Hi Gingham,

Please try and take it easy. Nothing is going to go wrong between now and Tuesday. Try and get as much sleep as you can (as you are going to need it!). Your little one will be here in no time and you know it's all going to be worth it.

If your muscles have split, then AFAIK you have to be very careful with what exercise and activity you do to give it time to go back. The sickness will stop straight away, so only four days to go.......

I had contractions in my back for a few days before labour and found that a hot water bottle helped (especially whilst sitting). My partner massaging the base of my back when it got really achey also helped a lot. I was also in the bath at least twice a day as it helped relax me.

Take care and take it easy on yourself.

    All the best.

Oh, Gingham I've been wondering how you've been getting on. Pretty crap by the sounds of it:grouphug: I really feel for you, pregnancy can be yuk, but just hang in there, not long now. Just rest and keep yourself calm and we'll be thinking of you a week on Tuesday.

Btw, if you're planning on 3, have you considered adopting the next one :D
