After 2 years and 1 miscarriage I am finally ready to join your club. I waited until I had my doctors appointment before posting as I miscarried just before that last time. I am officially 10 weeks and 3 days pregnant. I can't believe we have been trying for this long to feel this crappy! Constant nausea, irritability and lethargy have left me moping around in tracksuit bottoms like Vicky Pollard! I can't understand those that manage to have so many children if they all feel like this. Besides that I think other half is definitely going off me (what's to like?!!!). He can't come near me (doctors orders) and even if he did, I'm likely to vomit! Not much of a turn on.
I do have a question. Nurse said I was 10 weeks pregnant which was dated from the first day of my last period. Now obviously I wasn't pregnant then. I would say I am 8 weeks pregnant. When looking at growth charts, do you look at 8 weeks or 10 weeks? Confused.0 -

Congratulations
As far as any charts etc are concerned you are 10 weeks pg - it confuses most of us!
Have you tried any alternative treatments for the nausea? A lot of women swear by ginger. Have a look at this site for some more ideas:

Personally I found 2 sessions of acupuncture sorted out my nausea in the first trimester.
Good luck with it.The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0 -
Has anyone else found themselves really tired and really thirsty in the second trimester? I'm 16 weeks and have found myself getting more tired and thirsty over the past couple of weeks. I'm thinking of going to the doctor but I was wondering whether it is usual to be like this at this stage as I'd feel pretty silly going to the doctor if it turned out to be usual.0

I never got the burst of energy most people seem to get in the second trimester. And I was constantly thirsty and hungry during that time too...
However, I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 29 weeks - despite having no symptoms...if you are at all concerned have a chat with your GP/midwife.
(Also current statistics suggest that 1 in 3 women with Polycystic Ovaries may develop gestational diabetes - which is why my consultant had me do the Glucose Tolerance Test in the first place - my midwife has admitted she would never have sent me for that test as I had none of the symptoms she would have looked for).
Hope you feel better soon. The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0 -
I was absolutely shattered until about 18 weeks and the thirst has stayed with me throughout - currently nearly 35 weeks. I drink about 1 litre of Ribena a week (it was orange cordial but it sets off my heartburn)!
I would speak to your midwife if you are worried and check about gestational diabetes. My optician said I was slow to focus and this could be a sign, but midwife assures me all is well.
As for drinking, the occasional drink won't do any harm and the advice is you could drink 1-2 units twice each week. I do have the occasional drink, but end up feeling tired and spaced out. I've found white wine and soda can last me all night, or half a Guiness (for the iron you understand!) Generally I don't want to drink though and just work my way through the fruit juices.MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -

Has anyone tried those wrist bands for morning sickness? Am thinking about getting them, as am having constant nausea at the moment, but don't want to waste money if they don't work. Am trying ginger but doesn't seem to be much help.“We all pay for life with death, so everything in between should be free.”0

They helped me to a point. Still felt sick all the time, but not nearly as much as I did if I forgot to put them back on after a shower. Also, I have quite small wrists and found some adjustable ones on ebay which were miles better than the seabands that you get from Boots.0
