I found any loose fitting top was fine, and bras with clips on the shoulder straps worked best.

I would unclip the bra through the neck of my top. Hold babies head in front of my breast and lift top to a couple of cm's above your nipple. Pull bra down and attach baby.

When baby has finished, use the head as a shield again and push bra cup up as far as you can. Pull top down. Then reach through neck to reclip it.

Very easy and discreet too ;)

I never fancied zipped nursing bras as a well endowed friend kept zipping her flesh in them - ouch!
Here I go again on my own....
  • Thanks for the tips. Wondered why i was feeling so headachey despite drinking like a fish. I'll try the pint per feed.

the bottle was a tommee tippee one that is supposed to be best for breastfeeding babies if you believe their advertising, although in true MSE style, that was the cheapest kit. He drank OK from it, but it took him an hour to drink 2 oz. Not worth it unless i absolutely have to leave him, or he gets teeth me thinks.

Just a quick thought - have you checked the teat size? If it's a newborn teat then the flow of milk may be very slow...hence it taking him so long!!! Might be worth going up a teat size to increase the flow!! My DD is on an Avent number 2 teat (meant for 1 month old and over) and is only 2 weeks old. She got very tired and frustrated with slow flow teat and wouldn't feed very well...changed teat size and now much happier!!! Best of luck!!
