do you find it takes baby longer to drink expressed milk from a bottle? Are you having to drink loads more water than normal? or is that just me?
I didn't express so can't answer that bit!
I do remember having to drink a lot while breast feeding. My midwife suggested drinking a pint glass of water everytime I fed the baby, to make sure I didn't get dehydrated. It worked with both my babies, and I'll do it again when this one arrives. Here I go again on my own....0 -
Char97michelle Congrats on breastfeeding your little one, I managed to feed my little girl until she was 10 months old, I found that i was constantly thirsty and hungry whilst breastfeeding and like you found it did take baby longer to drink out of a bottle. Somebody told me they suck different when bottle fed so this may be why.
Keep at the breastfeeding and expressing as I gave up with the expressing and then she refused a bottle so when I needed to go anywhere i was really restrictied how long I could leave her for. My little girl has just had her 1st birthday and now they tell me I have to start to wean her off the bottle! Ive only just managed to get her to have one!
Keep up the good work your doing a fab job

Thanks for the tips. Wondered why i was feeling so headachey despite drinking like a fish. I'll try the pint per feed.
the bottle was a tommee tippee one that is supposed to be best for breastfeeding babies if you believe their advertising, although in true MSE style, that was the cheapest kit. He drank OK from it, but it took him an hour to drink 2 oz. Not worth it unless i absolutely have to leave him, or he gets teeth me thinks.0 -
I'm 36 weeks and today I was told by different people who haven't seen me for a couple of weeks, that my baby bump has dropped. They both said independently of each other that they reckon he will come early.
I can definitely feel his head in my pelvis and sometimes it feels like he is about to fall out. Is there any truth in this or might he still come around his EDD or later?
I dont think i'm mentally ready yet, i've got my head around his due date and not before!
Thanks,
Bay0 -
My eldest did that at my 36 week check and he was born a few days later. Don't go too far away from home - just in case!
Early babies are easier to deliver as they tend to be smallerHere I go again on my own....0 -
Hi peeps,
Just done a few tests (4 at the last count!) and they have all been positive, so I may be joining you all soon! I'm very very early - nearly 5 weeks so haven't got as far as a due date or anything but I just wanted to introduce myself...
Good luck to everyone TTC and having babies, looking forward (hopefully!) to getting to know you all.

Little distraction for you this afternoon. Take a look at the chart on this link
http://www.babyexpert.co.uk/newsletters/genderchart.html
It's supposed to predict whether you'll have a boy or a girl based on how old you were and what month you conceived. I'm 27 and conceived on holiday in Goa in March (hence we call the bump India - Goa would have been a bit cruel!)
We'd really like a girl, no reason. Although we'll be perfectly happy with a healthy anything!
Anyone got their little bundle of joy and can comment on its accuracy?
I'm on the countdown now. Just 4 weeks left in the office (I freelance Thurs/Fri which is what I'm doing today). I want to work up until 2 weeks before my date, for money reasons as I don't get maternity pay from my freelance work. I'll be doing this from home though and perhaps just 3/4 days a week. If it's too much, I'll stop.
I'm planning on the baby being late - due date is 22 December, so would quite like to have one last Xmas day just the two of us. I'll let you know if I start to feel different once I get to the beached whale stage!!
Please feedback about the chart, not sure how it's been compiled but it's pretty interesting!
tried this chart on my other two and it said they are girls but they are deffinately boys, and this time it says a boy and we had a scan yesterday and it's a girl!!0 -
Congrats Valentine
I had my dating scan today. It was reassuring to know there is only one in there! My due date is correct and I'm officially 11 weeks and 1 day pregnant
When I had my boys, I just got the one scan at 20 weeks, so it was all new to me today. I was surprised at how much baby was jumping around in there. We were all giggling as it bounced up and down over and over again. No wonder I need a wee every 5 minutes if that's what the little monkey is doing on my bladder! Here I go again on my own....0 -
Becles I'm sure you know from your previous children, but from what i've been experiencing lately the urge to pee gets worse and worse. My bladder must be shrinking with all the pressure.0

Can anyone reccommend a breast pump?
Are electric one's easier to use than manual?0
