What's it about?

Back in July Bailey started this thread to help all pregnant MoneySavers and their partners save on anything pregnancy-related plus give each other moral support. It's been hugely popular and now has a long list of pregnant mothers-to-be. Now it's not just for those that are pregnant but also those trying to conceive and MoneySavers that have probably already given birth and yet are probably too tired to let everyone know.

What should you do?

As well as being a great source of tips, baby-related bargains spotted, mutual support and help MoneySavers here have also gradually built up a list, adding themselves to one of these categories (the last one, people are moved to for obvious reasons!):
  • EDD (Estimated due date if you're pregnant)
  • TTC (trying to conceive if you're not)
  • Birth List
  • Probably given birth but too worn out to log on list
If you want to add yourself to the list follow these steps:
  • Click on the link at the top of this page that says "Last" (it'll take you to the last page of the discussion)
  • Scroll down until you find the message with the very latest copy of the list in (if you use one further up the discussion other peoples' changes after that will be lost)
  • Copy that (highlight it and click control+c)
  • Click reply at the bottom of the thread to open a screen where you can past it (click control+p)
  • Add yourself to the list then click save
  • And don't feel shy. Introduce yourself, say hello and ask a question if you need to.

Plus, if you're thinking of how to cut down on nappy costs remember to have a read of the Nappy MoneySaving article too and for later down the line if you need childcare first read the Childcare Vouchers article.

Sorry there are no freebies or coupons to use in Boots or Tesco. But I thought i'd start a pregnancy thread as having spent some time on the Families Board, I noticed there are quite a few of us pregnant women about at the mo.

Thought we could introduce ourselves and offer support over the next few months. Dad's are also included, helps give us mums an insight into how they are coping with the pregnancy. I do try to bear in mind my OH's feelings, but sometimes hormones just take over!

So anyway, I'm Bailey, 31 yrs, 20 weeks pregnant and my EDD is 7 December 2006. We've got our 21 week scan in just over a week and hoping to find out the sex.

I've been suffering with heatstroke these last fews days and i'm sure that's pregnancy related as i've never had it before, not even in 2003.

Feeling better today though even if a bit weak on my pins and breathless.

I look forward to hearing from you all.

Bay

This club is marginalising me, its not fair.

Can I be in it if I pretend to have a phantom pregnancy? :)

    hi

This is my first, I'm 36 weeks and my feet are swollen up like pigs trotters and don't bend at the ankles any more. Can I join the club? I want the baby to arrive asap but can't face the thought of being in labour in this weather, reckon I'd be worn out within an hour. Is there any chance of it snowing soon?

I am only 7 weeks and spent the last week bawling my eyes out.

We have 3 daughters already and OH's daughter from his first marriage living with us. (Hubby can only produce girls!)

I don't work but OH and I are declaring bankruptcy in a few weeks.

We have a tiny 2-bed house thats cramped to oblivion already and I am too hot.

My Dad is moving to Spain in a few months and he is my rock.

My head is banging against a brick wall and it feels like the wall is getting bigger.

Although I have discovered chocolate helps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, I feel so sorry for everyone on this thread with the current weather etc (except Nelly  ).

I'm mrcow and I'm 16 or so weeks pregnant with my third baby. I'm due in the New Year and we're all over the moon.

I've been sick every day since early May and there is no sign of it abating (was sick all the way through with the other two). My house is a mess and I don't know if I'm coming or going. My brain and memory are shot to bits :rotfl:

If anyone needs support, I'm your girl!
If anyone needs advice, you're probably best to ignore me in my current condition!

    Hia

Don't worry, if you're having a hospital birth, they'll have air con ;)

I actually think that summer is a lovely time for having a baby, as summer birthdays are great (silly reason I know!).

Can you not buy a small paddling pool, fill it with cold water and sit in it with a good book in this heat (I know I'm tempted!).

oooh, I like the paddling pool idea, might have to send hubby off to Argos when he gets in from work. Honestly, I swear I heard him oinking when he caught sight of my feet the other night.....

As for hospital, unbelievably, my hospital doesn't have air con ! I've already been in the maternity ward a couple of times during this pregnancy (things haven't gone entirely smoothly) and one of them was during a spell of hot weather and it was like an oven. Have a friend who is a midwife in the same hospital and she tells me the delivery suite is even worse. Can't wait for that!!! Still, I suppose in reality, the heat will be the least of my worries when the time comes!!
