Frightened about my future

Oh Ann you have had a stressful day. Just stay focussed on what Niddy said. They cannot come in, they cannot create a scene as that is intimidation and harrassment. If you can stay in Niddy will tell you what to say to them and then they will not come back.

Niddy you are amazing. We are so blessed you are here. Thank you you truly are a blessing. Dude, do you have wings? ( I am convinced he is an angel Ann and all the girlies).

Ann when you collect the car on Thursday do you know any man people that can go with you to check the work is complete? I hope you might be able to ask a nice neighbour or something.

Have you had a good day otherwise ladies? it is vvv hot but all my students showed up so i have had a busy day!!!

Hi Ann - just catching up and read about your impending visitor

Just a thought, did the card say they will be 'calling to see you on Friday' or 'calling you on Friday' - I ask because this is a trick DCA's often use as when people see 'calling you on .....' they assume that they will be actually calling at your home instead a calling you i.e. on the phone though they often do neither - they word it this way to make you think that - and this frightens people into phoning them - and end up paying them some money. This is how they work - on fear

Also, did you say a postcard? Was there anything on the card which could cause you embarrassment being on view like that? If it made it clear you had unpaid debts, you should be able to pull them up on that - I'm sure Niddy will have a letter you could send them if that is the case

However, if following Niddy's advice, you have certainly done the right thing and I am sure that no-one will call or if they do, at least you will be prepared with your [STRIKE]hose pipe[/STRIKE] plan of action

I do not have any man person who can go with me to collect the car - that is a good point!

Hopefully, as it is an insurance job it will be done properly? I am going to my son's on Saturday for a week (they are away for a few days and I am house sitting) so I will get him to have a look at it!

And you are right about Niddy and the "unwanted visitors". He has been an absolute tower of strength in this - in fact I am more concerned about my poor aching feet at the moment, with all the walking in the heat! Still trying to decide whether to be extravagant and get a taxi when I have to collect the car!

I am so impressed about how supportive everybody has been. That alone makes me feel so much better.

Actually, I probably used the wrong description by calling it a postcard. It was a card with tear off strips - bit like pay slips - and no-one could see the contents from the outside.

The wording said "our representative will be calling at your home on 28th May 2010" - no time given. But, it also said - in much larger letters beneath this - please telephone xxxxx if this is not convenient. The phone number was in large bold type.

So, I am wondering if, as you say, it is a ploy to frighten them into ringing - I have been ignoring their phone calls so far.

Watch this space for any developments!

I have just read the card (yet) again and the word at is NOT there!!

It says "our representative will be calling your home ..."

So, I totally misread and panicked! Of course, they may still call round in person - but I am beginning to think you are right 3Dogs. But not getting complacent!

Hope I haven't panicked poor old Niddy unnecessarily!

Well done 3 dogs and Ann. Niddy will be fine i am sure. Do you feel better now?

I hope so. Remember you are in safe hands. His Niddyness is here. I cannot imagine anything bad happening as he knows more than the bad guys. Please try not to stress, i know it is hard but try to think of something happy you want to do in the future and focus on that.

But do keep posting as then you will realise you are not alone.

I am so glad that 3Dogs made that point - I honestly hadn't read that stupid card properly! I just assumed that someone would come banging on my door - of course, they may still do that!

it sounds as is 3dogs was correct, its probably just a ploy to get you to ring them.. Hopefully the panic may be over..:T....I was so looking forward to hearing about someone being flushed away down your path.!! he he.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

You could also enlist Nanna58 and her pole she uses for Pole dancing, I am fairly certain that she could do some damage with that if need be.!!:eek::eek:
