    I agree re the forum!

Also - and this may be me! - but pages seem to be taking a lot longer to load - don't think my patience has gone downhill that quickly!

    Hi 3Dogs,

Impressed that hubby is gardening in the heat! I chickened out of doing any because I thought it was too hot!

    Hi everybody,

    Just to update you all.

Today I received my first (probably of many!) postcard informing me that a collection represeentative from Bank of Scotland would be visiting me on Friday of this week!

I flew into a slight panic and immediately sent a PM to Niddy. Who, bless his heart!, responded immediately, advising me to sent the template "threat of a doorstep visit" plus to either go out or not answer the door on Friday.

I printed off the letter and have just returned from the post box (another round trip of 30 minutes on my poor aching feet - not complaining, Niddy - honestly!)

So, it is now a question of what happens next! Of course, I will be reporting to all my friends here of what happens. I think I could do with some of your firmness, Jinny!

I am so glad that it did not happen last week when my friend was here! Also, ironically, I am away from Saturday! But it would have only been postponing the inevitable!

Although I was panicking initially, I am surprising calm now, so the panic did not last for long!

    Hi Ann

You do right - basically the letter you sent is a formal warning that if they call you will have them removed for trespass. So if they call and you're in simply shout through the door that you're calling the police unless they walk in the next 5 seconds..... they should take heed and walk away.

Bottom line, only you have the legal right to invite someone onto your land/property and any unauthorised visits after being warned not to, is harassment and trespass. You hold the ace card - not them, they are nothing and you should not worry.

If anything you could stay in and open the back door, walk round to the front and then tell them to get lost - be rude, be very rude - it's up to you really, how you behave - point is whilst on your land you can say what you want so long as you keep it legal hehe

Don't worry whatever you do - in fact i'm off friday I could come and sort it for you haha - they would just love that wouldn't they - the walking talking bible of CCA laws in their faces :rotfl:

Mouseann - what a good job Nid is here to put a perspective on things. It must have been rotten for you to read the postcard but I am glad you're feeling calmer now. Easy to say, but please try not to worry. Hugs.

    Thaks Niddy,

I do appreciate the offer but I am going to try to be "grown-up" and deal with it - not sure how, will play it by ear.

I think this is something I am going to have get used to - probably goes with the territory!

Just a small point, if they persist in turning up despite the fact that they have been sent the letter, can I respond and also tell them that I am elderly? Might be worth a try?
