Paste sandwiches :(:( Anyone remember Sardine and Tomato? Yuk:(:(

Hope everyone has enjoyed the beautiful weather today, I've done some planting in the garden and DH has put a pond in!:j:j:j:j he's been going to do it for months!

    Oh Nanny,

I had quite forgotten about sardine and tomato - double yuk, weren't they? Even worse than salmon and shrimp, which I detested. I am surprised all these "youngsters" can remember them, though!

Bet you feel pleased about the gardening! Have been weeding today - but nearly got heat stroke, it was so hot!

    Good evening everyone.
I've been out in the sun all day, had 2 long walks with my dog (helps to clear the mind), been playing with my granddaughter in her new paddling pool and done a load of weeding. I absolutely love the hot weather - I always say that the words'too' and 'hot' are not allowed in the same sentence!

Good news on the cards Ann!! I bet you din't elieve it could happen just a few weeks ago.

SW where did you get your baklava from? I adore it - but not good for the waistline!!!

Nanny - did you want to dip your toes in the pond to cool off?

    Thanks Pixie!

Yes, it is good news about all those cards! Don't think they will give up the chasing yet, though! But I feel a lot stronger.

And I love baklava as well - but do agree about the waistline!

Am just finishing off some chocolate cake I made for my visitor - and to hell with the waistline!

Goodness! I remember bread, margarine and sugar sandwiches!! Don't know what Jamie Oliver etc would have to say about it if we tried to feed them to kids these days:D

I liked sardine and tomato paste (still do) and spam fritters.

I can remember pestering my mum to buy a Vesta curry - then she made us eat it all. I'm still not all that keen on curry!!!

    Am off to bed shortly.

All this heat of today has made me very tired!

But - the people on the weather forecast say it isn't going to last, so good job everyone has made the most of it!

    Goodnight everybody.

I remember those as well. The very first "ready meals"?

But, they didn't taste much of curry at all!!

I liked the Vesta beef risotto and the Chow mein with the crispy things on top. Today I would rather chew my own socks than eat anything like that, how times have changed!
