    Ann,

it sounds as is 3dogs was correct, its probably just a ploy to get you to ring them.. Hopefully the panic may be over..:T....I was so looking forward to hearing about someone being flushed away down your path.!! he he.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

You could also enlist Nanna58 and her pole she uses for Pole dancing, I am fairly certain that she could do some damage with that if need be.!!:eek:

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Thanks Elsie,

I am hoping that 3Dogs was right - but I will still be expecting the knock on my door - if not on Friday, then at some time in the future.

I am trying to tell myself that all this is only on small part of my life - and that everything else goes on as normal. After all, I am not walking around with "debtor" tattooed on my forehead! (See, my sense of humour is gradually returning!)

I did see some comments about a pole when I was otherwise engaged last week. I am intrigued by this - are you all practising (virtual) pole dancing????

    STOP PRESS

    3Dogs and everyone else,

I have just read the card (yet) again and the word at is NOT there!!

It says "our representative will be calling your home ..."

So, I totally misread and panicked! Of course, they may still call round in person - but I am beginning to think you are right 3Dogs. But not getting complacent!

Hope I haven't panicked poor old Niddy unnecessarily!

Tha's OK Ann - so this is just a ploy to get you to ring them - they are sneaky those darn DCS's - really, fear is their only weapon 'cause they have no power over you if you are not frightened of them, as Niddy keeps saying. Don't worry about it - that is what they wanted you to read it as - and a very good ploy too - you are not the first an certainly won't be the last to think that is said they are coming to visit.

I'm sure there will more of these from other DCA's but you will be ready next time - it's all part of the learning curve - you have to learn how they think

Have you been trying this virtual pole dancing? (At least, I hope it is virtual!!)

    Thanks again 3Dogs,

    It did certainly panic me!

And I raced to the post box (on foot) with that letter! I have the aching feet to prove it!

I have learned my lesson - I will read this sort of thing much mor carefully in future - and try not to panic!

    Thanks Niddy,

I do indeed feel better - and so relieved and grateful that you are batting for me!

Think I will use the strategy, as suggested by you, of "talking to them" via the letterbox - in other words, not opening the door at all! That is, if they turn up at all!

Anyway, I may well be out when they call - although I suspect they may hang around until I get back!

At least this will be good experience for anything else which crops up!

    Hi Ann

To be honest ignore them, I was being a little sarcastic before - thinking on it i'd suggest you make a point of being out or of ignoring the door and closing curtains etc.... to be honest if they come i'll sort you a letter that will make heads turn!! They will have broken varying Acts - they simply have to adhere to your formal request that you sent today - they cannot ignore such a demand (note it is a demand, not a request).

You will never experience this so please stop worrying. You have my number now, seriously use it - if you get hassled or put on the spot by someone then say you're ringing your son - i'll sort it for you there and then - they will simply pass you the phone and say goodbye and walk away! Trust me - i'm good at this stuff when I want to be ;)

If they get your letter they will not turn up on Friday - regardless, you have to ignore them - they will not loiter, they will go cos they have a book of appointments to keep - you could get a shock and see them turn up at a neighbours - wouldn't that be amusing :rotfl:

Seriously, stop worrying - you'll be fine and you do have the best help available on here with all your support club etc.... :)

And I agree with both of you about admitting something I shouldn't! Especially as these people are trained to intimidate and get money from people!!

but I am scared that I may say something that I shouldn't re the debt.!!

To clarify regards to the above, no matter what you say or do will affect the debt or the unenforceability status so don't worry. A verbal admittal (regardless of the fact you're harassed and nervous) means nothing and does not change anything - legally. So dismiss any fears you have regards to this.
