Hello Mouseann, glad to hear things are on the way to getting sorted with the help of NID and others on here. I get the impression that there was a troll invasion on here last night? Trolls being pondlife who have nothing better to do with their time than make nasty comments on other people's threads. When this happens people on here report them and some of the guardian angels who oversee the boards delete the offending posts and block the poster from posting again under that user name. And if they try again using another name they get blocked again and so on. Don't worry about people who make judgmental comments - oh to be so perfect and make no mistakes, hey? What matters is you have a plan of action to follow to hopefully reduce your debt to a more manageable level. Once you have achieved that then you can review your options on how to clear the rest, by which time you will be doling out advice to worried newcomers! Get stuck in there, you have nothing to lose but your debts. One life - your life - live it!0

Glad you didn't think i was getting ahead of where we should be with that post NID. Didn't want mouseann to lose sight of what she should be doing right now but also wanted to make her aware of how some of the DCA's or creditors may react.
Mouseann, most new members cannot post links on the forum. This is to stop people posting spam and cluttering up the forum. Once you have a certain number of posts you can post links though. This is where scanning the documents would come in.
When you scan a document, you can save it as a jpeg (image file).
You will have a drawing package on your computer that you can use to black out personal details such as name, address and the amount of the loan (and remove any barcodes or reference numbers) - simple as if you were putting some black tape over the document.
Then you could go to a site like imageshack and upload the image onto their system. They would give you a webpage address where it could be found and you can then post this link here so we could view the amended document.
We would all then take great delight in tearing their letters to shreds and telling you why certain things they say are incorrect or partially untrue and exactly how it may or may not affect you.
Until you are comfortable with this though it is probably going to be easier to email the documents as NID suggested.
You may even have enough posts under your belt to use the private messaging (PM) part of the forum. Some of us need to clear out our's though as we have too many and are near the limitAfter falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Thanks George,
This is very useful.
I am about to go out and purchase the printer/scanner - hopefully, it won't take me too long to get to grips with setting it up!
I have used MS Picture Manager quite a lot when I was working so I should be able to use this to manipulate (i.e. black out!) the images.
Will investigate Imageshack - I have looked at Google docs but it looks a bit complicated for me!"What does not kill me makes me stronger". Frederich Nietzsche, 1844-1900.0 -
Morning Mouseann
Glad to see how positive you are sounding, well done. Keep posting cos we all want to know how you are getting on, don't worry about trolls the get zapped and do themselves no favours and they are few and far between. Have a good day and I hope you get a nice amenable printer that you don't need a degree in computing to work!!!!More than Two Years in
Doing it the Niddy way:j:j:j0 -
Thanks Pure Dead Dopey,
And yes, I do feel much more positive today - totally thanks for the great people on this forum!
Not sure about the printer/scanner and the degree in computing, though!
Incidentally, have just had a quick look at Microsoft Picture Manager and I don't think it has the ability to black out text. So I may well be asking for advice from everyone regarding a (free!) alternative package! Unless, of course, someone more knowledgeable knows how to find it Picture Manager?
And I love the expression troll - really allows the imagination to go into overtime. As well as the terrific support I am getting, I am also finding out how to increase my knowledge of modern jargon!"What does not kill me makes me stronger". Frederich Nietzsche, 1844-1900.0 -
Hello mouseann
I found your thread yesterday and am overwhelmed by the sheer generosity of the individuals who have taken a seemingly insurmountable problem and put you on the road to sorting it out - I think its wonderful, and wish you every best wish for the future.

Mouseann, there are a lot of free image editors available but you probably already have one on your system.
Are you using windows?
There is a basic one called paint. Goto start - all programs - accessories - paint.
You only realy need to draw black squares on the jpeg so it should be fairly easy to work out. Let us know if you have any problems or if you would prefer something different to work with.
Just remember to not save this over the original incase you want to go back to it later and keep checking that it isn't the original version that you are posting. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

mouseann - you could also try https://www.flickr.com for a way to post photos of things that you want to link to. You can have up to 200 images visible in a free account. You'll need a yahoo email address, but they're free too.
Hope you're still feeling positive - there are lots of folk out here rooting for you :T0 -
Hello everyone,
I have not been deliberately quiet today!
I have spent most of the day trying to install a wireless printer/scanner - and have nearly lost the will to live!
Not only could I not get it to recognise any network password I either use or have recorded on my router, but then I succeeded in disabling said router!
Then I tried to connect with a USB cable - at around 7 p.m.! - only to find that I do not have the right type of USB cable. All mine have different connectors - which is not a good thing to find out on a Sunday evening. So, I am unable to check whether the scanner works until I can go out tomorrow to buy a USB cable.
Obviously, I have the router working again now - hence this message - but it has not been a good day for technology!
But, George, I did find Pain on my laptop - while I was waiting for one of the installation processes - and I did find out to blank out details, using a file I already had. Will start trying the scanning again tomorow - but am still waiting for a reply from my IP re the dreaded security issue.
I just can't believe how long it has taken! Probably because I was getting tired and irritable by the end of the process - perhaps when I try tomorrow everything will be perfect!
Anyway, thanks again for all the messages of support - most appreciated. And nice to get messages from people whose name I had not seen before! So thanks, JoKay and Mags_cat."What does not kill me makes me stronger". Frederich Nietzsche, 1844-1900.0 -
