tescos glitch 3 for £2 on shampoos

Thanks
My housemate and I were talking about the distance selling act too... he said that Tesco.com seem to have something in place to get around it but then he actually came to find me after he had thought about it a while and said he thought that the DSA didn't apply to food but in theory should have to apply to none-food products.
I'm still thinking that I might wait for the delivery and then do a  at the price and refuse to sign anything until I have spoken to CS by phone
hang on...im bored at the moment so ill see what I can throw together for you
If I was you I would phone them and say youve realised the offer has changed online (as you tried ordering more or something) and you are just making sure you will be getting the goods for the reduced price when they arrive. Before they have time to say anything explain that the offer is still advertised (if it is) and that it was that offer when you ordered, of which you have proof....they should say they will GET THE PERSONS NAME!!!! And ask if they have a direct number (sometimes they have extention numbers allocated) then let them know you will be contacting if you are asked to pay anything other than the 3 for £2 price0 -
Hi ,all ,i made an order for 12 c/w and 9 j/f but was 7 different items so 3 of each ,i have just taken delivery but the bill was £101.60 and not £17 ,so i refused to sign it until i called c/s and got the correct bill, the driver refused to wait and just left the goods ,so i have not signed for nothing ,after speaking to c/s they told me they knew all about it and has had problems all day ,i told her i was refusing to pay the full amount ,she then called me back saying the would honour it ,but only nine ,i pointed out that i only bought 3 of each as they were all different products and i said that there was no mention of this on the website ,i also told her it is still showing as buy 3 for £2 online ,she knew this and appoligised ,she wanted to get the driver to return tommorrow to pick up the remainder ,i have refused and has said i have not even checked it yet ,i now have to wait for the store to call me to see what they have decided,i am going to hold out ,and think more should not accept 9 products as they are all different!
is anyone else in the same position!!:mad:0 -
Just been to tescos at serpentine green, they've removed all of the special offer signs so got a price check at the till and the shampoos came up at full price (not even 3 for 2) still showing offer online tho so might chance it.
Last night all the products were removed alltogether with SEL's in Serpentine Green Extra. Nobody bothered with it in city centre shop so got few items of John Frieda as they stock only very limited number of toiletries - did check this morning and yellow SEL's have been removed.0 -
right....distance selling regs (for kaos and anyone else who wants them...will post the info you need in quotes and the origin of the information in links following the quotes....then explain what it means if it isnt clear)
firstly from Tesco T&C's16. Applicable Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and any disputes will be decided only by the English courts.Buying online from shops or suppliers
The purchase of goods and services over the internet, by phone or by mail order generally is subject to the Distance Selling Regulations. One of the most important implications of these regulations is a cooling off period of 7 days during which you have the right to cancel. You must provide notice of cancellation in writing and it must be posted to, left at, faxed or emailed to the business address of the supplier, and you must ensure this is done no later than 7 working days after receipt of goods.
Basically the hair products will be classed as goods, they have been ordered over the internet (regardless of them been available to buy instore as I dont think that could or will change anything). As they have been ordered online and delivered you should have the 7 days cooling off periodGetting your money back
Under the distance selling regulations, you are quite within your rights to change your mind at any time within the first seven days, return the goods and get a full refund. This means without financial penalty of any kind – such as a cancellation charge or a ‘restocking’ fee. The supplier must also refund any delivery charges paid by you, and any other costs related to the contract. Refunds must be made within 30 days from cancellation, whether or not the goods have been sent back. Any related credit agreements will also cease to exist.
You may be required to pay to return the goods, but you must have been informed of this as part of the pre-contractual information.
same as above with the 7 days.....I was not aware however that they must refund delivery charges (cant see anything in the t&c's to say you should pay for returns although havent looked that closely) which may be helpful
If I keep quoting things it will be the same thing from different places, I think the above is enough to reassure people you are entitled to your moey back. Just to make sure though, this is to make sure you get all your money back (i.e a complete refund) not part refund and I am in no way saying they must legally honour the glitch

firstly from Tesco T&C's
No direct link but theyre online and v easy to find....also mentions '
THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS DO NOT AFFECT YOUR STATUTORY RIGHTS.' so they openly accept they cannot disregard the law

You are a STAR!!!!! That definitely helps!!! I have tried to use those regs before and been told to return stuff at my own cost so I am thrilled to see the bit about refunding delivery charges
In regards to this Tesco thing, that is perfect. That is the confirmation I needed that if all else fails I can get a full refund on return of all the products, just so that I know I can't be saddled with a bill I can't afford to payI'm a happy bunny now

Yay! Good on you for standing your ground and not signing until you'd spoken to CS, and lucky you that the driver was impatient and left without a signature
There is a fair chance that I will be in the same position by tomorrow lol, I have only ordered 1 of most items, just to try them... the most of one item I ordered was 9 as both me and my friend use the product... I've had problems arguing this point in store... our local counts Pepsi and Coke as the same thing  and will only let my partner and I buy 10 bottles in total at a time, even though there are 2 of us... if we try to get 6 bottles of each (he drinks Pepsi, I drink Coke) they take one off each of us at the till
Therefore if it comes down to an arguement with my local store about how many I am allowed to buy then I predict problems, lol.
Let us know how you get onIf a post is helpful to you, please take a second to click "thanks", it makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside!0 -
Well they will quite obviously argue the refund of postage thing...but just make sure you print out tescos t&c's if they do as they will immediately change them(atm they dont say anything about paying to return the items nor not refunding postage) With a bit more looking I have come across the DSR's PDF
http://www.oft.gov.uk/shared_oft/business_leaflets/general/oft913.pdf
cant quote from a pdf so....
Top of page 7 mentions the 7 days money back thing even if the goods are not defective...some exceptions are on page 9 but dont think haircare falls into any of them.....refunding delivery costs is on top of page 10 along with the requirement for them to fund the return (as they do not say anything contrary in their T&C's)
Ill stop looking nowI dont even need this stuff, I managed to drive (be it about 15 miles rount trip) to stock up for myself and friends

Oh my, I can't believe all the hassle some of you are going through with the refunds on dot com! The offer was as clear as day and Tesco can try and deny it all they want but in the Handforth Dean store they were actually changing the 3 for 2 signs yesterday about 5pm to 3 for £2!! They had printed POS so they knew about it. I am so glad I got mine instore.
Those people who arent geting refunds keep hassling Tesco, they seem to be refunding some people and not others. They can't treat customers differently depending on who answers the phone.. Remind them of the slogan 'Every Little Helps' :rotfl:
Tesco are a huge giant and I doubt that this offer has hardly caused a dent in their massive profits!!:TI'm sure this site makes me spend more than I save :think:0 -
Look what I just found in the terms and conditions!!!!! (linked to from my confirmation of order email)
Returns of non-perishable items
We hope you will be happy with your purchase. However, should you feel it necessary to return an item, we aim to make the returns process as simple as possible.
If you are unhappy with any non-perishable items, simply return then to your local Tesco store, in the original packaging within 14 days of despatch and we will give you a refund on those products or replace the item.
Please note that, in the event of a refund, all Clubcard points received for the purchase of the refunded goods will be removed from your Clubcard account.
Your statutory rights are not affected. If a post is helpful to you, please take a second to click "thanks", it makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside!0 -
