depends who you speak to...i rang CS this morning...girl i spoke to at 10am...before my order came...said no problem, if i was charged full amount as it was their mistake...refund would be given.....difeferent story when i rang back after delivery came and got someone else who refused the refund and passed me over to a manager who also refused
tammigirl can you please tell me why they didnt refund you. I mean what was there excuse please? Also what did they suggest you do with all these products that you have paid too much for as obviously you wouldnt have ordered if they were full price.0 -
My mum (who is at home all day to accept an order) did an online order last night for me, 4 of my friends and herself. Had a delivery slot of 08:00 - 10:00. No sign of the delivery guy at 11:45, so she called CS.
They had cancelled the order due to all items being OOS. No phone call, no email, no nothing. Just cancelled. The CS guy didn't even apologise. Although I'm a little annoyed about this (I LOVE the stuff and spend a fortune on washing my hair in it twice a day!) I don't think we could have handled the hassle you are all having in trying to get a refund.
Well done to all who got some!I don't believe in doing things the easy way.....0 -
Well I have just took delivery of my order. All items are in stock but the guy said they didnt give him a receipt. So I asked do you know if there was any substitutions he was like eh dont think so.
Please sign here. Got the cs number from him and the lady said she phoned the store and there systems are down at the moment so she will phone me back at 7pm when she speaks to the store to make sure my discounts were applied.
Obvioulsy I know that I will have been charged full price so hoping she will rectify the overcharge when she phones me back.0 -

I'm still trying to figure out whether there is any legal right to a refund of any kind after you have accepted delivery. My housemate tells me that when the items are delivered, the driver will hand over some sheets of paper which detail the entire order and pricing and shows a large bold total price, then asks you to give a digital signature to confirm that all is OK. He seems to think that once you have given that signature you no longer have any legal right to a refund. He thinks that Tesco have so many disclaimers in place that they *could* refuse point blank. That terrifies me! Lol! I'm now considering letting the order be delivered but refusing to sign anything until I have spoken to CS by telephone, even if it means making the driver stand there in the cold for a while (sorry in advance mr driver)
Got to pop out for a bit but will be back later to see how it is all going
As I said, it would be a tough call (legally) as you knew the price you paid when the driver told you, but they may be accountable for misleading you to think the amount would be refunded.
Just remembered also that distance selling could possibly be used to get full refunds (if they refuse to give you the glitch ad expect you to pay in full) as you didnt have chance to view the item(s) before you paid....if theyre delivered in a bag then you cannot possibly know what you are purchasing therefore AFAIK they need to give a kinda cooling off period (really not sure on this point though!!!!! you would need to research if your going to use it, just think I remember something along them lines from uni....and to be fair when you quote law to companies they usually roll over and let you have your own way regardless)

Full price at Brixton tesco store. Good luck to the ones who hit it on the first day or what seems to be when they fixed the error around 6am and not midnight as first thought.
Wow. Tesco got murdered on this glitch.Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"0 -
Just as I thought, my order came and the delivery note said those items were unavailable at this time!!!!!!
Oh well, better luck next time! Good luck to all those still waiting for their orders/chasing refunds, hope you all get the bargain!!!0 -
I went in formby today and they were all marked up 3 for 2, get the cheapest free. I didnt try to see if they were 3 for £2 cos really didnt have the guts or the energy. Glad some of you got some0

guess this is an odd one...legally the contract formation is offer (the handover of the goods) and acceptance (the signature for the price stated) so basically you have paid willingly and knowingly that amount for the goods. I suppose you could argue you relied (to your detriment) on the belief CS would refund the amount (this argument would hold up more if you had called before you accepted the order and was told you would be entitled to a refund).
As I said, it would be a tough call (legally) as you knew the price you paid when the driver told you, but they may be accountable for misleading you to think the amount would be refunded.

Thanks
My housemate and I were talking about the distance selling act too... he said that Tesco.com seem to have something in place to get around it but then he actually came to find me after he had thought about it a while and said he thought that the DSA didn't apply to food but in theory should have to apply to none-food products.
I'm still thinking that I might wait for the delivery and then do a  at the price and refuse to sign anything until I have spoken to CS by phoneIf a post is helpful to you, please take a second to click "thanks", it makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside!0
