Hi all,
Congratulations to you all on a fantastic performance in March!
I'm new to MSE and looking to join a few different groups. The only problem I have with this one is that my meals at work are £1 (subsidised) per day. Do people recommend still brining in food from home with such a little spend or not?
Thanks and gl to everyone in April. :TI am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.

Wow - what a good deal, you lucky thing! My impression is that you can set the rules of this challenge to suit your circumstances. Why don't you say no additional spending on food during the working day and aim to get your £1 meals every single day? Or is that what you do anyway and you want to make it slightly tougher? Depends how much you want to save I guess!May NSDs 10/11 (Feb 8/10, Mar 11/10, April 11/11)May save on lunches challenge 12/18 (Feb 16/16, Mar 20/20, April 18/18)0 -

Well done everyone on completing the March challenge, I did aim to buy two lunches, and only bought one, it was easier in March what made it good for me over the month which I didn't realise till the end was that for most of the month I was on late shifts so didn't have the need to go out for lunch/breaktime and it also gave me time in the morning to make sure I took something with me.
And now for the next month, come and join us I've started the April challenge thread...

I will certainly be joining this challenge in April – I’ve just started making my own lunches this week but am a bit hit and miss with it at the moment so think that this challenge will keep me going with it!
I really do need to do it – I’ve been in the fortunate position of having a fairly good disposable income up until now but I’ve just separated from my husband and now found myself really having to seriously budget for the first time in years. I used to buy both breakfast and lunch at work as well as large teas and coffees and other snacks regularly throughout the day from the canteen and would probably add up to £6-7 a day so getting on for £30-35 a week just on work-bought food and snacks – really need to get that number down now that my budget is limited!
Thanks for this challenge! xDebt as of 24.06.2010
