  • funny you should say that.... just the other night DH asked the best way to remove the sticky from his nicotine patches (any ideas other then sergical spirit as I can't that at the mo)?? It reminded me of when I used to use Clearasil pads - always cleaned my bedside cabinet after it got sticky tea marks off a treat.

I've bought sticky stuff remover from Lakeland before which smells of oranges, so i think it's just orange oil. I don't know if you can get that to use on your skin from somewhere?

Bit scary, but I have booked myself a little mini cruise to Spain! My first time abroad and I'm going alone. I got a passport in December and am desperate to use it! Will be good for using up all those pesky little samples :rotfl:

Don't be scared - I reckon you'll have a great time. I've now done 4 big long haul holidays by myself, and loved them all - had an amazing time.

I only got up the guts to do one after travelling with a friend, and met a few people travelling solo - we both had slightly different ideas about what we wanted to do sometimes, so would spilt up for the day to hang around with others, and I realised how easy it was...

Still terrified me the first time I tried it, but the very first night (in Malaysia) I ended up in a Karaeoke bar until 3am with people of 5 different nationalities. It wasn't all like that, but it was a good start :)

Anyway, you'll have a great time - just smile and relax and you'll end up meeting loads of people. And in the quieter times just enjoy being able to do whatever you want - there's no one else to tell you what you should do, or make you go along with their plans! Lots of freedom

And my friends have been green with envy every time i get back at all my stories, which is almost as good a feeling again :rotfl:

Right, bit of an update of what I’ve used:

    - Some random hair heat protection balm (can’t remember what it is!). WIBA? No – so no point digging it out to post I guess :) It was fine, did the job and everything, but not as good as normal hair serum, so no point buying it. I have another one in my stash though, I might ebay it…

    - Toni & Guy Protein Protection Mist. WIBA? Yes, yes, yes! I wasn’t too worried about getting to the end of this, as I knew I had a couple of JF heat protection sprays to use, but now it’s gone I’ve realised just how good it is… I really like the fine spray, and it really does condition and protect so well. I’ll happily use up the JF stuff in the meantime, but then I’m def going back to this. The JF spray doesn’t spray so well (so I’m not sure all my hair is coated), leaves it feeling a little sticky when wet, and not as soft when dry. The T&G stuff is def more expensive, but I’m convinced it’s worth every penny, and is often on 3for2 in boots. It lasted ages as well. Love it (have you guessed? :D)

    - 4 samples of Clinique Dramatically different lotion (my main bottle was getting hard to pump out, so I topped it up with all the samples I had to clear space!). WIBA? Definitely – I love this. Won’t be buying for a while though until I’ve used up my stash of other stuff, and got settled into OCM, then I’ll treat myself if I still need it (and I still have the big pump bottle to finish, which is looking like it’ll last at least another month, yay!)

i find this too? but i have tried the dove thermal protextor (not sure of the name, its in a red bottle) and the spray if fairly good on that and none of these issues so far! will have to keep an eye out on the T&G one though, thanks for the review of it :)

I travel by myself all the time, you will have a great time!!! When I first used to travel alone, I used to dread the evening, but now I usually just go out for dinner, and/or to a film or just wander about (depending on the weather). I find going out to dinner on my own is a fab time to arrange what I am going to do the next day and to write in a travel journal and to write postcards.

Sometimes I stay in hostels and sometimes I stay in hotels, you usually end up chatting with people all the time and sometimes wish you could have time to yourself!! You will have an amazing time and won't regret it. I travel by myself so much because if I want to go somewhere, I would rather go alone than miss out altogether!!

Let me know if you need any female travelling alone tips :)
